The Hollywood reporter report that NBC, has order a pilot script called Midnighters. It's based on a series of novels about people born at 12:00 a.m who gain superhuman powers during the so-called 25th hour. They use these powers to fight crime.

I'ts from warner bros tv. It was going to be developed fro the late WB network, but fell by the wayside when WB merged with UPN to form the CW network.

I thought NBC was obessed with cutting expenses. This show will be expensive. That's why they gave Jay Leno a primetime talkshow. so they could avoid spending money on expensive , hour long dramas. And with Heroes fallin apart and with BW 2007 failing(although NBC did micromange BW to death. Ifan knows what I'm talking about) it seem seems strange they would be interested in such a show. I also hear they are biding for a new spy drama from JJ Abrams.

Longshot at best, but the fact might be that NBC is sitting on the sidelines trying to think up something that will work. Like you said BW was a disater from start to finish....they managed to muck-up Heroes by going the same route as Lost and Alias, making it so friggin complicated with so many characters that (IMO) ratings have suffered.

Leno from what I've heard is not doing as well as expected. I thought it would do OK but not be a solution for the 10pm timeslot everynight. The novelty has worn off already IMO (yes, I've seen it about 4-5 times) and while its funny at time, its not something I'd tune in EVERY night to see -- much like late TV.

I think we're nearing the crest of the reality TV wave as well -- god, I hope so...
