no ordinary family was created by AJF
ABC has ordered a pilot to be filmed of Greg Bertlanti's NO Ordinary Family. It's about a family whose members have "special abilites". He created Brohters and Sisters for ABC and is a writer and a producer of the upcoming Green Lantern film.

Not much is known about it, but knowing Berlanti's previous shows it would more likely be like Brothers and Sisters with superpowers than The Incredibles.

Micheal Chikilis of The Shield fame has joined the pilot as father of the family.
Bleedingcool.com has a small review of the pilot script. It seems the father has superstrength. The mom seems to have superspeed.

So the guy who played The Thing has super strength? Yawn. They just couldn't be creative enough to give it to the woman could they? Bah. Well Chikilis did a good job on the Shield so here's hoping it won't be crap.

Bleedingcool.com only posted snippits of the pilot script. That may not be the actual shooting script. It could be that the parents have the same powers when the final shooting script is finished. Or the mom has superstrength and the father has some other power.

It has been green lit by the network and the pilot is cast. From the sides, it looks like the Dad has superstrength and invulnerability while Mom has superspeed. The kids have telekinisis and super smarts. One would have to think some power exchange or some other supers will be floating out there if it does get picked up.

Scuttlebutt is that Disney and ABC 'love' this pitch and its got great odds for making the Fall cut (released May 18th). Variety and Deadspin.com both characterize its chances of making the Fall schedule as very good.

Where there are superheroes.....supervillains usually follow and other creative storylines (e.g. power reversals, etc). While we won't have an ubergirl cast member. There may be some episodes people hear will like. Anyways, I like Michael Chiklisis and Julie Benz, so I'll prob watch it...

I 've heard reports that its hinted in the pilot that other superhumans may exist.
Also, NBC cancelled Heroes, but is talking about doing some kind telefilm/miniseries send off.
