Nymphs (Finnish TV series)

Nymphs is a new Finnish TV series whose rights have been sold worldwide before local broadcasting. As a result, it is being aired in foreign countries before the Finnish premiere which will likely be in early 2014.
From what I can gather, it is being aired in Italy and, starting on November 3rd, in Germany.
Yesterday I've watched the first two episodes on Italian television, there will be two episodes each Tuesday.

Nymphs tells the story of Didi (pronounced "Deedee"), a girl in her late teens who woke up next to the dead body of the first boy she ever had love with. Two unknown girls will find her and tell her about her condition: she's a nymph, not a human. She will have to leave her (step)mom and friends and begin a new life. She will have to mate at each full moon or die horribly, but her partner will almost always die. A nymph who can't control her powers can kill with a simple kiss.
Unless they stop mating, they're immortal and forever young.
It's not clear what other powers they have, or what a nymph purpose is. In the first two episodes we can only understand there are at least three kinds of nymphs, and that some of them have healing powers.

An Order is hunting them since forever. And they now have a nymph, a traitor, on their side.

For those in germany don't get your hopes up too quickly. From what I can tekll the show will air on "Pro Sieben Fun" which is only available via Entertain (IPTV), Unitymedia (Cable) or Kabel BW (Cable)

Besides that the setting sounds awfully familiar. Guess that happens when you start watching the new season of American Horror Story (called Coven) as well as Lost Girl in short succession. Ironically between the three shows it seems like the Sukkubus has the least problems bypassing the death-by-sex problem she has.

Ha! I immediately thought of Lost Girl too (still have to watch the whole American Horror thing)

But there are many differences on many levels. In Lost Girl, Bo is drawn to the very big world of the Fae while in Nymphs it looks like it'll be a three character thing.

But it's not just that. Lost Girl, and North American TV shows in general, encompass action, aggressive characters and a fast pace.

Nymphs, on the contrary, is very naive. Slow pace, dry dialogues, an almost immature script. But that's precisely what makes it interesting to me. It feels different, and as a fan of culture differences I'm excited to see my first Finnish show.

Guys, Rebecca Viitala is one smoking hot amazon! She's not just tall and beautiful but she also has a toned build and incredibly broad shoulders!

In episode four she burns down the house of Didi's love interest and she plots to have Didi kill him against her will. She's one hell of a dark superhottie
