Skye is..... (Shield Spoiler) was created by lfan
In case you didn't see it this week on the mid-season finale of SHIELD, the mystery of Skye's origin has been revealed. She is Daisy Johnson (aka Quake) and the daughter of Mr Hyde (who was played by Kyle MacClanahan). She has the power to create earthquakes or tremors as her power. SHIELD finally has a superhuman on the team!

Here is a tiny animated GIF of her "transformation" and coming out, so to speak:

Enjoy

Not a bad call.

I get the sense that AOS is listening to feedback, and going from "Spy Show" to more superhero stuff fair enough. But the trick is of course its an ensamble show. How do you introduce a character without just making it the Ms. Marvel and friends-and frankly a superpowered heroine like her would probabbly end up like that.

Quake is a character with a powerset you could see being useful every couple of episodes without overpowering eveyone else. Its in Roleplaying Terms an Area of Effect Power which means no matter how powerful it is has the limitation of maybe effecting her friends-and it doesn't have the narrative problems of invulnerability.

And shame i didn't see the episode as Mr. Hyde is one of those characters i always liked and MacClanalan is an actor who i respect

Actually in the comics, Daisy was trained by Fury to be able to use her power with extreme accuracy. That is to target extremely small areas (finger sized or even smaller).

And if you think for a moment "why would someone want to be able to cause an earthquake in something the size of a finger" the answer is pretty obvious. Especially when it's Nick Fury doing the training.

So (in various timelines/alternative stories etc), she has destroyed someone's heart (Wolverine), shaken to bits implants that would kill someone, destroyed hand weapons, etc. Her power is great for assignation, as it doesn't leave many traces. You shake the right area of the brain and it's hard to tell without super detailed scans/autopsy. It's one of those things where comics often focus on the people with extreme powers, TK that can lift heavy things, able to lift a battleship with magnetism, etc. But much more reduced power levels are awesome if they come with very fine levels of control. It probably only takes a few ounces of power to kill someone, or to stall a car. Even the largest doors can probably be opened by moving a small amount of material.

She might be one of the people who can take on Ultron. His insides usually are not all Adamantium, and her power could rattle up his innards and shake them apart.

Though in the comics she doesn't use her powers that often, mostly acting as a "normal" SHIELD agent would.

But she also wasn't an Inhuman who got her powers by being exposed to Terrigen mist. It's amazing that Marvel's already setting up the Inhumans movie that's four years away. (Though since Marvel doesn't have rights to mutants (it seems even new ones), they're making new characters that are Inhumans instead. Almost the same MO, just s/mutant/Inhuman/g. See the new Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan. There has been some speculation if she's going to make an appearance somewhere in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

And related to this, I'd rather see the Kree-Skrull war than Civil War, even if Civil War is more relevant to today's world, and Winter Soldier already set some of it up.

I think what i have read-if it debuts in an X men book -its property of fox-but if its not-say Squirrel Girl which debuted in Iron Man, or....oh common Squirrel Girl is the only mutant anyone cares about it Disney can use it-However Fox also can use them-so dueling squirrel girl movies. Twice the Monkey joe...

But then I always thought Mutants was Stan Lee going back to the same well he had with the Inhumans-so that makes sence-except less obviously Sci Fi. It kind of makes sence, but i do hope the inhumans when they get there aren't just mutants with the serial number filed off, when ever you need a quick explinaton for a superpower. I never thought the Inhumans where all that great, but there is something to there iconagraphy of alien cities in the artic etc.

As for the Kree-thats a second property Fox has. Becuse that debuted in Fantastic Four that belongs to that universe(though i really doubt thats ever going to come up given how there directing there movies). How that comes into the inhuman origin i don't know.

I think you mean that the other way around (X-Men appeared well over a year before the inhumans).

Also the Kree have already appeared on Agents of SHIELD (they were mentioned), and in Guardians of the Galaxy (Ronan is Kree). Either this wasn't part of the deal, or Marvel is allowed to use them too. Really for the FF, the Kree are a secondary property anyway -- they were mostly used in FF as the source for the inhumans and for some fights with a Kree Sentry (IIRC). They're more heavily used in Avengers. (And Captain Marvel, the male one from Marvel).

And I agree inHumans aren't "mutants", and they had this strange city and advanced culture that gave them this neat sci-fi edge (and fit in with the FF). But now in the comics Black Bolt released a roaming world wide Terrigen mist, and it's turning people with a bit of inHuman blood into people beings, though sorta randomly. And many think this is just to use mutants less (entire "no more mutants", etc).

Not sure what Marvel did to get to be able to use Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
