Retro Girl is safe, for now

This has been pretty much suspected, hence not too much of a spoiler, but still nice to hear that Powers' favorite ubergirl is gonna be a mainstay in the series.....for now.....

Of course, joining for 3 months is only slightly more and that gets me it all right now, and might signal what I'm doing better. Encourage them to make more.
(I don't know of anything else on PSN that I should care about.)

What kind of audience are they trying to reach here?
Don't people who go to PSN go there to play video games?
Is there already scripted programming on PSN?
This may be a great show that fails to find an audience because of this experiment.

I agree....I don't know the membership of PSN, but it seems like a rather limited audience. I would imagine that the reach INSIDE the network would be pretty expansive. Similar to MaidenComics' Athena, everyone has has a subscription will probably watch it, but will it be enough to lure people to subscribe.
I would have to imagine it will either be leaked (a lot of gamers tend to sail in 'pirated' waters) or we'll see it redistributed (via Netflix, Hulu) fairly soon.

They're heavily running ads for Powers though -- it seems like a good way to at least raise awareness of the PSN outside the original market. But the problem is they aren't letting me know any reason why I'd want it other than to watch Powers. (meaning they're failing at their opportunity.)

I doubt its ever going to go on online service-competition. Its possible it can go on DVD though probabbly not for awhile.
The idea is-Well this well if your a real fan of the comics you maybe will buy a playstation.
or more likely if you have a playstation you will buy the subscription service to watch it.
or if you already have a playstation and the subscription service you will watch it-and thus use the playstation more- and by using it more get involved in the Ecosystem as they call it and possibly by more games.
Possibly a good idea-despite not having a game, Powers as a mature superhero show with guns strikes me as a good crossover with the modern video game audience so i bet fans of say Resistence and Killzone may give it a shot.
Microsoft tried a touch of this in the 360 generation with a couple of low budget movies, and was going to do it with a Halo show however i think they recently canceled it. I think they spent so much time trying to focus on diffrent things with that system that it got lost in the shuffle.
This could be a good idea-but i donno with the consule wars.
