Big superwoman anniversary today

Big superwoman anniversary today was created by andyf
Today is the 20th anniversary of Buffy The Vampire Slayer first airing on the then WB network.
Buffy is, without a doubt the greatest superwoman tv show of all time. Sure, both Wonder Woman and the Bionic Woman may had more feats of strength per episode, but when it came to both acting and writing, Buffy beats them hands down.

Love this show. Currently making my way through the series again on Netflix right now. Almost done with Season 2...

I'm not entirely sure I'd classify Buffy as a superwoman, but then again I've never been more than a casual viewer.

Yeah, I would agree. She would have some strength feats now and again (In fact, I just saw the episode the other day where she bent a gun barrel) but not a whole heck of a lot.
I still liked the show though. Although now that I'm rewatching it after a number of years, I find myself a little more annoyed by Xander and his constant quips than I used to be.

I agree - I never really bought into Buffy back in the day. Again, I was only a casual, once in a blue moon (yeah, yeah) watcher. It may have been groundbreaking from a certain perspective, but slaying vampires every week never put her on the same plane as superheroines I feel.

I always considered Buffy a superheroine. She was even referred to as one in the very first episode.
