Eventhough, of course, I am not expecting it to match the first season (Purple Man defined what she is afterall...)

The evidence is in this very authoritative picture, showing her lifting the massive rock, the crumbling bottom of the boulder hovering above the ground as she prepares to throw it over her head at the bad guys.
But then, given all that blonde hair and blue eyes, she's obviously Velorian.

Gonna start watching today. Glad to hear it starts off OK. Some reviewers said it was slow, that it didn't have a clearly focused villain in the first episodes, more of Jessica trying to sort out her head, but I'm very cool with that.
I like Jessica, despite her screw ups and damaged thinking and PTSD and alcoholism or whatever. I like the grittiness. The idea of being both damaged goods and superstrong is a pretty interesting combination. Drunk and doesn't give a shit most of the time.
But buried beneath all the darkness and anger is the kernel of a good heart.
The idea of a heroine who doesn't act like one most of the time is intriguing. And if we're holding her up to the light (always dangerous with superheroes), she's more "realistic" than most comic-book characters. Supergirl is an unrealistically wholesome and sweet young woman. Her experiences should harden her, if she was human anyway.
Jessica is more what you get when an ordinary human winds up with powers and has to fight (or just deal with) the darkness of the world. She's been to hell and back, and she's got the scars inside her head to prove it.
Or so it seems IMHO.

I'm not sure how much I want to discuss the show until people have seen it.
It is a world where almost no one is a "good person". I mean there are actually good people, but most of those are criminals of some sort. I'm trying to think of a genuinely nice, law-abiding person in the show ... and I don't think there is one. (Even the "good cop" is willing to let someone slide for murder because they killed the right person.) Everyone with money/position has a dark side.
I guess there is a cameo of Foggy.
At the same time, even the "bad" people have some redeeming qualities.
This season does a really good job of showing you multiple sides of people and letting you wonder if you would hate/like to have them in your life, and challenging your first impressions should hold or not.
Jones herself is a complex person, scarred by multiple traumas, and S2 adds some trauma we didn't know about. A time when Jones was trying to even out her life pre-Killgrave and got stomped on. I really like well-designed flashbacks where the same actors portray their characters from a different times. Past-Jones can't be present-Jones, she's not gone through everything yet, but she's still not ever quite right. It was a chance to let Krysten Ritter and Rachel Taylor do some good acting.
S2 is some great work by Ritter backed by good direction and writing.
A mantra of super hero movies and tv is that they "are only as good as the villain". I would say this season has a good one -- because it's not an easy dismiss. A person Jessica hates, and label a main bad person -- might just be one of the nicer people on the show, who isn't altruistic (but his motives skew more that way than not) and certainly did some unethical stuff ... but he's hardly the person Jones views him as. I think the writers went out of their way to address most of the 'evil' he'd be labeled with. I'm not going to excuse what he's done, as he's quite morally flexible and DID to bad stuff ... but his base motives were to improve the world and take responsibility for what he did. Though they make sure you really shouldn't feel too sorry for him.
The main bad person ... well they're uncomfortable and they leave Jones in a quandary because of it. I hesitate to describe the season as actually having "a bad guy" like Kingpin for Daredevil S1, or Killgrave for JJ S1. The story really isn't centered around the conflict between Jones and "the bad guy" ... at least not in the traditional sense. I'd say the center really is Jones vs herself, with reflections of this struggle reflected in multiple other characters.
All in all I watched the episodes and didn't really notice the time passing. I binged the entire thing in 2 days, and it wasn't slow or dragging for me. Curious how others find it.
It does some setup for S3, though I don't know what the plot will be. I also don't know how much Bendis (creator of Jessica Jones) has to do with the show, and if him being undercontract with DC now instead of Marvel would affect him consulting on the Netflix Jones show.
A nice easter egg is it appears that David Mack's (cover artist for a lot of the Jessica Jones covers) art was used in teh show. I'm not 100% sure .... but it certainly looks like his work. I also think they redid the opening to be an homage to how he uses colors.

There are no Hulk-outs, transformations, or green skin, but Alisa spends much of the episode tailing the young Jessica wearing white hospital clothes and with a long dark mane of a wig. And like Shulkie in her savage days, she was calm and erudite until she loses her temper and then trashes the place in a blind rage.
I know there has been a steady group of voices trying to convince Marvel to put She-Hulk into the MCU. I would be surprised if that actually happens, so maybe this was a bit of fan service for those people.
This image isn't exactly it (she's not in the hospital clothes), but you get the idea. Am I seeing things?
