Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but Netflix's new series "Altered Carbon" includes some super strength feats by the female police officer in Episode 6. (bar bending, throwing people across the room, breaking walls/floor, and if I remember correctly there's also a throat lift.)

This series was developed by Leatea Kalogridis. She was hired to create Bionic Woman 2007. She she in recent interview to promote AC that she was fire from BW 2007 partially because she was told she did not know how to write women.

I'm about to finish the last two hours of it. It's been quite enjoyable and generally more entertaining than I found the book. There is indeed some good fun with a cybernetic woman dishing several fairly savage ass-beatings complete with throat lift and a few other very thorough demonstrations of the My-strength-your-broken-body variety. And the ultimate badasses of the series (both strategic/psychological and tactical/straight-up melee) are another two beautiful and intricate female characters.

Some damn fine cyberpunk story/themes married to the budget to do the FX right. I think many in this audience will enjoy it.

I know there are those here that it's their thing: the strength feats are from a bionic arm.

I'd read the book a long time ago, and remember liking it but I didn't remember it much.

Liked the show though. It has some thoughts on what the ability to reboot into a new body would do to both a society and to an individual. There are several scenes that are both funny and serious at the same time. The people involved don't think it's funny, but you still have a HUGE tough guy with a beard acting like a tiny old latina grandma.

I like that the show paid attention to little touches like that. The show was probably really fun for all the actors involved. Some actors got to be 3+ radically different people in a short span of time.

THere are also a few other kick-ass women in the show, though no other super-human strength (just fighting skills above what we'd consider humanly possible.)

There's also a lot of nudity (both male and female), but it all fit in really well.

The actress is Martha Higareda and she plays Kristin Ortega.

there are several scenes of her using her bionic strength, including a fight scene with a nude Dichen Lachman. (I think it's in EP 7.)

Don't have Netflix, but the novel the series is based on is really great.

Just finished the series and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it :)

From my understanding, this is the first part of a trilogy. I haven't read the books, so am eagerly, hopefully, looking forward to Netflix adapting the other two parts :)

Really well shot, great characters and story. Its the closest, imo, that anyone has ever come to putting Neuromancer on screen.

Maybe one day, that will happen :)

Peace.
