Just to remind you that Painkiller jane airs tonight, and yes she has superstrength, well, according to this:

"The Bionic Woman" lives on with "Painkiller Jane," a two-hour backdoor pilot for a Sci Fi Channel original series that proves to be slick, intelligent, reasonably entertaining -- and blessed with an alluring lead.

Based on the Event Comics series of the same name, it stars Emmanuelle Vaugier ("Saw II") as Capt. Jane Browning, an Army Special Forces type who gets exposed to a powerful biochemical weapon during an anti-narcotics mission gone terribly awry. She's killed along with the rest of her unit, except that five days later she miraculously awakens fully healed from her fatal gunshot wounds and in possession of all sorts of inexplicable physical and mental powers. She runs like the wind, has superhuman strength, can plot chess moves like nobody's business and, well, you know the drill. Think of her as Lindsay Wagner without the Ford campaign.

P.S.

the promo shows her running at the speed of 230 mph!

I was planning on plopping down in front of the TV for this one. I bet it's really good.

Man oh man, I don't have this channel. If anyone catches it, please let us know how it was. Give some details too hey. Let me know what kind of action there was. The mention of her being like the bionic woman sounds pretty good to me. I've always had a soft spot for superhuman abilities being displayed in a slow motion fashion.
Thanks

What about some jumps? How were the running scenes? A couple reviews were talking her up as the next bionic woman. That's crappy. I'd still like to see those running scenes though.

1.5/5 capes. She is very Uberlooking so maybe there is hope for the series, but I doubt it.

Did anyone get a chance to record it? If so I'm wondering if we could see some scenes.

Don't bother with this movie. No strength feats at all. That bionic woman reference was bullshit as well as the running at 200 mph.

Well that's the shits. I'd like to know if there'll ever be another bionic like superheroine on tv or even film.

I'haven't seen it yet, but the synopsis is enough for me. The girl portrayed has nothing in common with the comic's character except the name.

The only power of the comic's Jane is a powerful healing factor and nothing else, also she was a police officer no reference to the army, etc.

With this bases i think that the series will be very disappointing.

Ok, I recorded it, but before I go invest two hours of my life.

1. lacks what we're all looking for, but still an overall good movie.

2. It sucked all across the board, delete it now!

Well it sounds like it was a waste of time for you guys. I have to know though, what kind of scenes were there with her using her powers? I'm still intrigued by the running in slomo.

Their was no super speed at all, it showed her running through the woods, using heightened powers of perception to avoid branches and tree stubbs and the like, it also hinted at heightened intelligence, with photographic memory, and of course the self healing, and that was it, not one inkling of even above average strength i'm afraid.

And don't forget that great piece of Uberbabe action where she check
mated that guy by thinking 5 moves in advance! I sure hope someone got that scene on tape!

Ok, so I'm glad I missed it. But if anyone really is interested in a beautiful uber-chess player, check out Grandmaster Alexandra Kosteniuk:

Oddly, she doesn't seem to photograph well. Having met her, I can say she's actually much prettier in person than any picture I've ever seen of her.

Thanks for the heads up! I opted for 5 episodes of Family Guy instead.

And according to recent posts, it was a much better choice.
