Old Pilots

2 questions. Most seem to know of the failed Electra Woman and Dyna Girl pilot. How would one get a copy of that. Also, there is one called Ball and Chain(seen below). Has anybody ever seen that one?


The female lead role in the Ball and Chain TV pilot is to be played by Myndy Crist according to an April installment of the Zentertainment e-mailer. Crist has appeared in movies like Hanging Up and Chain of Fools.

The pilot is based on Scott Lobdell's comic of the same name. Crist and Dan Cortese (Veronica's Closet) play a divorcing couple who become endowed with super powers. Unfortunately those powers only function when the bickering couple is together.

Over a month ago the trades announced that Sasha Alexander had joined the cast. Speculation was that Alexander would play the lead. Zentertainment reports that Alexander instead plays a character named Chloe Jones who is having an affair with Cortese's character.

Also, there is one called Ball and Chain. Has anybody ever seen that one?

I can't remember where I read this, so you can take what I say with a grain of salt. A full Ball and Chain pilot was never produced due to cost constraints. The producers instead filmed a 5-minute scene with dialgoue and FX to illustrate the look and concept of the show to the TV execs. AFAIK that video isn't available anywhere although I confess I haven't looked for it in a while.

Youtube has the Electra Woman pilot. I liked it, but be warned. If you are expecting a childrens version like the 70's, this is not it. Markie is all woman, and has the mouth to go with it.
