Greatest American Heroine on DVD....

10 Feb 2005 14:44 #66 by lfan
....well along with the Greatest American Hero Season 1 set! The new Cannell DVD is set to hit the streets in mid-February. William Katt and Robert Culp return in the first season boxed set of "The Greatest American Hero".

The entire pilot for the Greatest American Heroine supposedly is in the bonus features. There have been clips floating round of this, but in case you all haven't seen it, the basic premise was Ralph picking a "successor" to the suit which turns out to be Holly Hathaway. She accepts, trains with Bill Maxwell with the suit, and goes on her first mission. Same campy premise as the original series, but has some respectable uber-stunts....

Definitely worth renting.

But wasn't there also an episode where Pam got to put on the suit?

Quite unbelievably, not one that I can recall.....strange that Smallville has not used that "plot device" either since DC was such a fan of that scenario with Lois and Lana all through the Silver Age.

Nobody but Ralph could use the suit. That fact was built in to the suit by the aliens who gave it to him.

As for Smallville, there was one early episode where Clark's powers were accidentally absorbed by someone else, but it wasn't one of the girls. It was just some guy in Clark's high school who went berserk with power until CK hit him with the kryptonite. Typical "Kryponite mutant of the week" type story in the early seasons.

I think it'd be cool to see Chloe get the powers temporarily, just for a twist on the old theme, instead of Lana or Lois.
