How do you rate Black Scorpion? was created by freeLancer
I am thinking of ordering the DVD set for Black Scorpion from US. We dun get Sci fi channel in Aust, so I havent seen a single episode of Black Scorpion.

Just wondering if the series is any good from those who have seen it.

I can see online that the costumes are OK and there a quite a few female baddies, but are there any ubegirl scenes.

Thanks for info.

If you like girls in leather, that's about all it's good for. It's been a long time since I dared watch it- it was a 'Showtime original' or some BS, and as such, it's generally cr*p.

The main character is a batman-style vigilante, complete with nifty car, but no superpowers. I think the first movie was the best one, spawning one or two sequels, which were absolutely awful.

(I do have high standards for superhero/superheroine movies, but I don't think I'm being overly critical in this case).

I don't remember any really good fight scenes, leg scissors, displays of superstrength, or anything like that.

2nd opinion, anyone? As I said, it's been a while. I may have forgotten the good moments of the movies.

If memory serves, there was only one "ubergal" villina, Aerobicide, who was a cyborg I think. Nothing really to speak of in terms of FX (except for her crushing a glass) that I can remember.

Thought Michelle Lintel looked the part -- shame it was so campy......

Apparently, you missed the series that followed the movies. I never saw the movies, because I don't have Showtime, but I watched the tv show a few times when it was on Sci Fi channel.

As others have said, not much in the way of ubergirl stuff, but there were some nice looking women in those types of outfits. And one episode did feature a villainess named Hurricane who had superbreath and used it a couple of times.

As for the quality of the show overall, from a non-ubergirl perspective... Let's just say that my last paragraph pretty much covered the only reasons to even consider watching it.

Replied by MackTheMouse2 on topic here, a review that I didn't write...

I think that's probably the last nail in the coffin...

Then again, according to this reviewer, there's some redeeming features.
