Please be aware that this MIGHT change and/or the site might go down again, if you use the site from the front page you will notice that the tag cloud and web links have been removed from the front page, I'll reinstate them in the future.
I'm aware that the "Latest from the forums" module is not working, I'm looking in to that, I hope to have a fix in place later on today.
It's 0610h and I've been working on this since 1900h yesterday so I'm hoping a bit tired.

But, my bruised ego aside, all's well now that SWM is back up and running! Thank you Fats!! It sure sounds like you put in the hours on this one, man. Not being able to access SWM today made me realise how important this site is to me, and how much I value it, because it made me realise how much I'd miss it if it ever went away. It reminded of the day I discovered Conceptfan's original site was taken down, and that time I logged onto Mankillers to discover that a troll had brought the house down. Two very unhappy moments in my life, it was like losing a friend on both occasions.
So thank you, Fats. It's nice to have a place where my stories are well received, and where I can find other like-minded maniacs such as myself. If SWM went away, it would be like losing a whole branch of my family tree...

The black borders around the side and on the top don't really add anything to a page-i realize the side ones can help with mobile layouts, but if you have to put them make them white.
if you can push up the blog a bit-its not really on the mainpage any more.
if this layout stays around a bit, you may want to redo the logo-its not bad, but doesn't quite fit the space.
But overall getting better. This is still a better designed site then most on the web.

Next is the design of the site, there is a number of areas that can be tweaked colours and fonts are the mains ones along with placement of items.
I'm looking to the wider membership to suggest fonts from www.google.com/webfonts also colours as well, this template is going to stay for a while as it's reducing the load on the server.
so go nuts and reply to this thread with your suggestions.

lojack wrote: quasi-font suggestion- the latest forum posts font (for the links) should be the same font and weight as those in the column to the right- those of the latest stories. While I don't have a problem with the current font in use, I'll try to pop over the goog's list and see if anything strikes as a better fit for the site.
lfan has already asked me to look at making the 2 modules (latest from forums and latest stories) look the same, the issue is that both have completely different CSS files and they need to be edited so that they look alike, which is a little challenge.

The only practical way I have to read the stories is to "select all" and then ready the bright white letters against a dark background.
Nope, same here. The text default text colour (assigned to <body> in the CSS) is actually above mid grey (#9399A1). The text colour for the editing <textarea> is slightly below mid grey (#6E6E6E). So yes, it's very washed out. If you hack the CSS to make both values Black (#000000) the site becomes a lot easier on the eye.

Y'see what I like about this site is constructive criticism gets listened to. A lot of other places they'd just say "tough".
