Julie of Velor
He wrote absolutely everything on this tiny little pocket computer circa the mid 90s. About the size of a smart phone today. But he claimed that whenever he had inspiration, he could work because his computer was always in his pocket. In that way, he was way ahead of his time. The rest of us were lugging nine pound laptops around.
I hosted his early stories on the AU, and then he moved on to his own site and continued from there. I left Boulder and moved to Singapore in 1999 and we eventually lost touch. He was a very private person, so I won't share more personal details, but he was a gentle soul with an amazing imagination.
Sorry we seem to have lost his voice entirely now.

I think that, given the size of AK's old library it would be better to bundle many chapters together, but that would require a lot of manual fixing (rolls up sleeves).

There's some sort of anomaly in getting this link to work at The Bright Empire. If I click on it here, or save it to my personal bookmarks, I can open the story links from 2004. But if I do the same thing with the same link at my Links page, clicking on story links brings up only a 2016 sublink for the site being parked at GoDaddy,com. I recopied the link, even though the URL was obviously the same, and there is still the same anomaly.

<<Julie and Friends was one of the greatest sites, along with Infinity Bridge, from the early years of the Aurora Universe. It exists now only in a hard to access Wayback Machine archive linked below:
Julie of Velor
For some reason, a direct link to the Archive posted here on the Links page 2015 thanks to Beginner/7bf at Superwomenmania.com turned out not to bring up sublinks from 2004 to the actual stories, but only to a 2016 link advertising the Ubergirls domain for sale by GoDaddy.com. Yet the same link works at SWM and elsewhere. So I'm going the indirect route through an internal htm link. It works in tests. I hope this workaround will solve the problem.

What do people think, do you think it's a doable idea or not?
Is there anyone who would be available to help in the task.
let me know

As an experiment, I've added a new shelf in the library and have added the first 4 story files from Julie of Velor. This is a test to see if there is a demand for the stories, there are no images included as I did have them but lost them with an HDD failure, if anyone has them please let me know.
If people want more let me know and I'll add them over time.

Something's wrong. The link takes me to several chapters of "Batgirl Forever" and I can't find any sign of Julie of Velor in the SWM ibrary

You've got my vote. Would be great to see Julie's various stories on the site with the pictures included

brantley wrote: Tangentially related: Somebody at AURG was wondering about the old AU site, before "Sharon Best" took it down and returned a few months later as Shadar with the AUOW version. Here's a link to the Wayback Machine archive. Only the captures up to March 2003 are actually to the old files.

I saved them to my desktop a long time ago after they started disappearing from the web. I always preferred the original writings of Sharon Best (pre-Shadar) since they are what first introduced me into the genre. If you look hard enough, you might even stumble across one of Sharon Best's pre-Aurora stories on the Diana the Valkyrie site. Alongside some of Dru's early work too.
