Graphically, I found Dominion really cool. And I actually like this force stuff - see for example Dendory's work on DeviantArt: dendory.deviantart.com/art/Naked-Sith-18...aey%2F50827150&qo=49
But it still felt like the comic missed something. Of course it's inherent to a Star Wars-like force scenario that you don't have much actual physical interaction, but I found that they made too short work of their opponents. Still, that obiosly can't be a reason for people not to buy it, because they don't know what's inside ;) So maybe telekinetical supergirls are just not as appealing as the more physical ones..

As Esteban said, graphically, Dominion was tops. In addition to JT's usual talent, this one had lots of the great atmospheric effects -- some of which were first introduced in the freebie pack that was releassed in late December. However, the plot and action did not pull me in as much as other H.E. series typically do. It's all relative: H.E. has produced so much great material that the bar is very high.

Speaking of which, I thought the Judgement Girl and Temptress series were outstanding -- both visually and in terms of the story. And the more realistic dimensions, IMHO, were a big plus. Given Jess's comments in this thread, I guess I may be in the minority: H.E. apparently has a large contingent of customers that require dimensions on the more.... robust... side. Oh well.

For anyone you hasn't seen Heather Effect, you have to be receptive to some pretty badass evil stuff to enjoy these comics. But for those of us who can enjoy that stuff, H.E. produces really excellent material. Keep up the great work, Jess and JT!

I did not imagine that :) I guess the reason I thought that you did was that some of the models you use (figures, clothes, props, etc), I use myself. Your render engine is definitely not Poser, that IS for sure, as the Firefly engine is not that great :) If you use 3DS, I imagine you use Renderman or Mental Ray?.

Still, kudos on your models and rendering. And, as someone mentioned, some of the post stuff in Dominion was really great. A shame that you may not be continuing that story :(

Looking forward to seeing what you cook up next :)

Peace.

After watching 5 seasons of The Clone Wars and putting 200+ hours into The Old Republic, I really thought the Star Wars universe was an absolute playground for super powered gals. I was really disappointed that hardly anybody else saw that.
We were a good ways into a Lara Croft-inspired series and I made the call to shelve it indefinitely. As far as the numbers go, the comic book superheroine stuff is all that sells. (After our pinup packs of course!)
kikass: We've been using Carrara for the final rendering for some time now. It's fast, versatile, and highly portable.

Bought it, like it. Especially the humorous self-irony of it, that was funny.
But I'd like to see a change in what these jokes address: They use a quite limited set of killing over and over again.

What comes to my mind now is Edgeworld 3, page 10. There is a heavily bruised girl whos joints get bent just to make her scream a little bit. The evil scientist in Judgment Girl does the same to Power Girl. The fact aside that many people here don't like peril, I like these drawn-out torturing deaths more than the usual throatlift-neckbreaking. Maybe they can at least toss their victim against a wall next time? I know many of those things are hard, we talked about this. But it would be cool if you guys tried :)

I've thus far liked everything I've purchased from Heather Effect - though I do like the slightly scaled down models of Judgement Girl over the models of series like Rapture. What I'm waiting for - and I know it's not a direct revenue stream, so I'm not sure when it will go up - is the filling in of those "Coming Soon" pics on the "Heather Effect Women" page - a dossier on all the new models from Judgement Girl, Dominion and Temptress would be nice to see.

Can I jump in? :P
I saw there's a sale on Rapture 1-7 so I went on and bought them. To be honest I prefer the muscular body type, but how can I say no to that price?!

The story is good and the main characters are so deliciously careless and badass!

I have a couple of questions for the site owner:
- Being Rapture my first comic from Heather Effect I thought that all the girls in the Rapture universe would have been "extremely" well-endowed, as if that's normal there. But then I saw that only the main characters are built that way. Secondary characters, such as the teacher or the rest of the cheerleading team, are much closer to normal size. Is there any reason for that? Is that explained somewhere (ie, in other comics) or is that just the way it is? It seems a bit odd to me that some girls are "normal" while others have boobs twice the size of their head and nobody bats an eye.
- How come Heather Effect doesn't have a newsletter? I'd really like one to be kept informed on new releases, special offers, etc. It'd also be a nice way to keep in touch with customers, for examples for polls or something like that. :)

Until you get an official reply, I'll give it a try:
-Enormous boobs are usually an indicator for enormous superpowers. So a normally built girl will usually be a mere mortal - except for Supergirl and Powergirl in the Judgement Girl comics. They probably are flat-chested in spite of their kryptonian bodies, because compaired to the two villainesses, they are mere mortals ;) Also, not all large-boobed girl automatically have powers. In the first episode of the recent Ascension-Comic, the two high school girls don't have powers until they are given to them. But generally, big boobs=big powers is a good rule of thumb ;)

-I do receive a newsletter, maybe that's an automatic thing once you've ordered something.

I thought that too because in Rapture the girls with killer breasts are also the superpowered ones, but according to the plot the two main characters have just been given their powers, and no one bats an eye about their boobs. So they must have been huge even before getting their powers. So I guess there should still be something to explain :P (I'm just nitpicking!)

Thank you for the info on the other comics :)

mm, that's odd. Well, that's good to know anyway.

Oh yes, you're right about the huge breasts in Rapture where the girls don't have their powers since they're born. My guess would be that, if huge breasts don't automatically mean huge powers, they at least mean capacity and potential to recieve them ;)

If this explanation were canon, it'd be so damn cool. :) It'd be as if huge knockers are the mark of a superior breed of women.

As for the newsletter, nevermind. I've found the button to sign up, it's at the bottom of the "site news" page. Quite easy to miss if I can say.

I promised myself I was DONE discussing the boobs, but just this once...
Yeah, if you see a girl with a huge rack in our comics, she either has superpowers or will get superpowers very soon. And she will eventually kill something :)
The big boobies make the girls more intimidating, add to their superiority complex, etc.
The Heather Effect site definitely needs a bit of a facelift; we've simply had too many irons in the fire to tackle it. We are however, working on a second site that will be part of a "re-branding" effort that will encompass Heather Effect too. I think you guys will really dig what's up my sleeve :) I'll announce it here in the very near future :)

I pretty much buy everything that comes out within minutes of it happening. I'm about 75% sold on the modeling packs. I would be 100% if there were simple feats of strength, throatlifts, simple hovering/floating or flying, superbreath, ...

Not so into the height of the models. Love the high heels but the girls all seem like they are 6'+ to begin with. High heels on a 5' model would really do wonders. Only a supergirl could balance on them using her flight powers (in my little mind anyway).

Some of my wishes for future works:
- A recreation of the Superman II scene where they blow away a downtown street but using three of the girls.
- Sexy costumes and not just the skimpy stuff they wear now. Which is hot as hell but would be nice to see a cape or two and some emblems
- Let's see one of the bimbos 'suck start a Harley', After one of the normal guys says something like she is so hot I bet she could 'suck start a harley'. His buddy says no way. She proves it can be done.
- Recreate the whole dang Superman II movie! But HeatherEffect style.
- Tidal wave created by superbreath
- Have the girls start their own airline but with terrifying results. Have them be stewardesses.
- Evil black Supergirl costume with silver piping.

Ok, back to my vodka.

Would it be possible to know which series are going on, which ones are interrupted and which ones are on hold?

From what I can gather from this thread, Dominion is interrupted, Vengeance and Retribution are on hold and Ascension is going on.

What about all the others? Rapture, Temptress, Judgment Girl, ecc.?
There are also some titles that seem to be one-shots but I'm not entirely sure. Heatwave and Edgeworld Ultimate, for example, are one-shots or not?

Thanks!

I think Heather Effect's work is fantastic and I've bought everything they've ever released.
If I could ask for one thing it's that they finish Rapture.
Their other releases like Vengeance, Retribution, and Ascension are great, I fell like they're more fan service whereas Rapture has an amazing story and characters I genuinely care about.
Rapture feels like it's very close to concluding and it would be a big damn shame if they abandoned it.
If anyone from Heather Effect reads this board, please, please finish off Rapture!

So Rapture isn't finished yet... :(
I loved issues 1-7 and I'd like to buy all the others because, as you said, the plot is compelling and it's not just about the tits. But if it isn't finished, and there have been no new issues for a long time, I better wait...
