I think she was a bit annoyed with him when he laughed off her claims after she confided in him and he walked away from her as she practically marched to the roof edge
I saw it the same way. She'd confided in him, and he didn't believe her. So maybe she was a little piqued... and got overly dramatic. She a very young woman, so she's not always going to do things the most mature way.
Whatever the case, it was a cool scene given the goal was to dramatize the idea that she could fly. Which is such an awesome power.
But yeah, it was kind of a heart-stopping way to do it. Doucebaggy if that's what she'd intended from the start. But as a reaction to being a little pissed, and yeah, showing off a bit... perfect.

On the other hand, the guy's shock wouldn't last long because he'd see her take flight a few stories down instead of just dropping like a stone. So maybe she did think ahead in terms of playing a practical joke. But the thing is, the show doesn't want to portray her as a Wise Woman, but as someone who, despite her super powers, is also an ordinary girl in many ways. She may be invulnerable, but she's not infallible.

Ah, you got a copy of the Pilot.
And I'm pretty much on board with your comment. An ordinary young woman wth a restrained, narrow life who suddenly is trying to play the Superman game (which he's been doing for the last 30+ years). That's a really hard league to play in.

2 men at a bar in the empire state building. One says "You know the wind currents on 34 street are so powerful if you jump off the side of this building they will push you right back up!" The other guy says "BullShit!! Bet you a $100." "You have yourself a bet!"
First guy jumps out the window and 10 seconds later he comes back to the window.
Second guy gives the first guy the $100. "Let me try!!!" Jumps out of the window to his death.
The bartender turns to the first guy. "You know, you are a rotten drunk Superman!"

ETA...if you pause the original trailer bang on 4:00, she has fallen so far down from the building's edge, her hair is flapping about her head, and well, I think it's a stunning scene!

I see this has been re-written in the latest release with Kara jumping up and down gleefully exclaiming "I know!" so maybe this whole scene has been re-written?

I hope they don't rewrite that scene. I thought it was great. The short teasers that are airing have been so massively cut and edited that I'm trying not to draw any conclusions from them. My understand is that the Pilot that they showed at Comicon was the one we grabbed early on after the "leak".
