Season 2 x 01 Spoilers & Discussions The Adventures of Supergirl
The last season ended with her tossing a million ton alien space station into deep space, YET this season starts with her unable to save a falling helicopter and Superman has to save the day?
The whole superpowers "now she has them, now she kind of doesn't" thing kind of worked for the 60's Supergirl. But it gets old fast.
And yes, I know, we have decades of comics where Superman saves the day when his little blonde cousin can't, but this is 2016. We've grown a little since those paternalistic days. Should have anyway.

Btw: as a forum admin, can I ask a favour of all forum members? When you have a few moments, can you go back through some recent threads and "THANK" (click the thanks button) the posts of people who've added news, pictures, or interesting comments. Particularly those messages that have taken a bit of effort to write. Some really great contributions have been going unthanked by anyone, and I know I'm just as guilty as everyone else for not taking a few moments to hit that button. I'm going to try to get into the habit of thanking people, and I'll post irregular reminders from now on, because I'm pretty sure contributors here like seeing a list of thank-yous under their messages.

Beware though. Major spoilers!
ElF
Thanks ElF! There's a photo on the 11th line of pics that looks surreal to say the least! (I'd post it here under a spoiler banner, but don't know how to set one up.)

Surely, surely they will go with President Prince as a nod / tribute to her career? (And don't call me Shirley)

I saw a poll on DA about what people are looking forward to in Supergirl.
Superman and Supergirl together was one. Another one was "Clark and Kara together". I voted for the later (among the other choices) and this image makes me think that's right.
Just seems that I want to see Supergirl BE Supergirl, not Superman's sidekick. She does need to learn a few things from Clark (he does have 10 years of experience). It seems most of that he doesn't have to shadow her as Superman to do that. So being Clark, and not Superman, is the best way to show that.
I guess I liked the Kara/Barry scenes better than the Supergirl/Flash scenes too.
Don't get me wrong, we need to see action too, but good character development/interaction grounds the rest of that.
OTH, Jimmy is larger/bigger than Superman?

I was thinking that too. As an old comicbook reader, that's just wrong.
His size didn't bother me with just Kara for some reason, but there's a reason Jimmy always called Superman the "big guy". He was always shown as being taller and just bigger than other men. 6'3" officially.
He's supposed to look overwhelmingly powerful.
Henry Cavill (6'1" and 205 pounds) is on the lower end of Superman, but he mostly pulled off the "big guy" thing.
Supergirl's Superman looks like a wimp. But he's probably totally in touch with his feelings.

SUPERGIRL “The Adventures of Supergirl” (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) — THE CW HAS A NEW HERO AND SHE’S BRINGING SUPERMAN WITH HER — When a new threat emerges in National City, Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) teams up with her cousin, Clark/Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin), to stop it. Glen Winter directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg. Teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg and Jessica Queller. Original airdate 10/10/2016.
