The DCEUs Supergirl Has Been Cast
... then, maybe that was just a stunt double? It's been awhile since seeing any production shots from anything that I forgot what everyting looked like...Butch brunette hair cut. Hopefully no visible tats or piercings. Probably Asian for some extra points.

Unless they are going to CGI some muscles in, they can make far better prosthetics without going overboard.

Pretty sure that's mainly the harness around her waist from the flying rig, since that's what they were filming at the time the photo was taken. As for the different look, my only guess is that they want to differentiate themselves from show. Plus, the Lara Kent theory may hold weight. Time will tell. The fake abs in the last picture are pretty lame.

Superhero suits are always worked on in post (mainly color-grading them to look better on screen) so I expect the costume will look fine once on screen. And yes, the cape will be added in as CGI. Standard practice in superhero films.
The problem isn't the costume, its the actress.
Fine looking woman, just doesn't look like Supergirl.
Take all the Supergirl's that have been on screen (large and small) and you will see a pattern (obviously) - Helen Slater; Laura Vandervoort and most recently, Melissa Benoist. Hmm, what could the common look be???
The fact that the filmmakers either seem oblivious to this fact (making them stupid) or don't care (most likely), speaks volumes.
To those that are looking forward to this, good on you. Enjoy. For me and I assume others, this isn't Supergirl.
Luckily I still have the images of Helen, Laura and Melissa forever.
Peace.

Take all the James Bond's that have been been on screen and you'll see a pattern.. like the books they have black/dark Hair. Ok, obviously they phoned it in for Octopussy (but the promo shots are right).Take all the Supergirl's that have been on screen (large and small) and you will see a pattern (obviously) - Helen Slater; Laura Vandervoort and most recently, Melissa Benoist. Hmm, what could the common look be???
The fact that the filmmakers either seem oblivious to this fact (making them stupid) or don't care (most likely), speaks volumes.
That those filmmaker's cast Daniel Craig as James Bond seem oblivious to this fact (making them stupid) or don't care (most likely) speaks volumes. They have Bond parade around with sandy blond hair!
Those Craig bond movies really sucked too because they didn't pay attention to that vital fact when showing Bond on Screen.
I DO get it. Some cosmetic attributes are more important to one character than another, and some here can't get over a non-blonde Supergirl (even if we're not sure it's Kara Zor-el and not one of the actual dark haired Supergirl's from the comics like Cir-El). This is perfectly fine. Everyone draws those lines in different places, and do so differently for each character because a performance is a sum of many things.
I'm just having a bit of fun as some of the reactions seem a bit over the top to me, esp at this stage.
Literally no one cares that Craig's Bond doesn't have dark hair. Craig's bond is excellent and is the best Bond portrayal (Sorry Connery).
This is also probably true for Supergirl, no one outside of some geeks will care ... and most of the comic geeks (NOT the people here) will not be actual fans of Supergirl, so really don't care but it won't stop the histronics. ( if you come here, you are obviously a fan of Supergirl and care about the character. But this is not going to be true of the average twitter comic book poster)
To those that are looking forward to this, good on you. Enjoy. For me and I assume others, this isn't Supergirl.
As I said, everyone is free to make these choices as they see fit. I'm merely saying "Lighten up Francis" (and of course I ain't your drill Sargent so you don't have to do that either...)
I'm going to wait until I actually SEE parts of the performance before I get all worked up about this. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine taught met that (talk about actors that don't look like the character! He's like a FOOT TALLER!!)
I am neither looking forward to this or dreading it or upset by it... I simply don't have enough info to be bothered by it yet.
And, i'm also irrational "Supergirl doesn't wear pants!" (except she did a few times so ... ). Like everyone else, I don't have to be logical or even consistent. (I generally find a lot of the form fitting suits to be sexy.. mainly as they're sexy on Olympians and other fit women).
But I also laugh at myself for that reaction. I haven't watched a single Supergirl TV show where she's in pants.. but I was tired of it before then. But maybe it's just the pants thing.

Take all the James Bond's that have been been on screen .... blah...blah
I DO get it....
Well at least you got it. But do you? Do you really?
I'm just having a bit of fun as some of the reactions seem a bit over the top to me, esp at this stage.
Fair enough, same here Or am I?
...some here can't get over a non-blonde Supergirl (even if we're not sure it's Kara Zor-el and not one of the actual dark haired Supergirl's from the comics like Cir-El)...
This is actually a good point to be fair. Yes, yes, with the multiverse angle going on, its perfectly possible that this is NOT Kara. In fact, I've heard on the net, that it could possibly be [Henry Cavill's] Superman and [Amy Adams's] Lois daughter from the future. It certainly feasible.
However (detective hat on).
The biggest indication, to me, that this is gonna be THE Supergirl Kara Zor-El, is the fact that the filmmakers have NOT said this is Kara Zor-El, Why would you not come out and say "we are introducing Supergirl herself, Kara Zor-El, to the DCEU"?
Supergirl is probably the 2nd most well-known superheroine in the world (after Wonder Woman). And Kara, arguably, is by FAR the most well-known and liked representation of her. So why didn't they just come out and announce it when they said they were going to have Supergirl in the movie? Surely that would generate more anticipation/hype? Or could it be so as not piss off fans? Maybe.
Contrast that to when Feige, in 2014 (I think), announced that Captain Marvel would be coming to the MCU. He SPECIFICALLY stated it would be the Carol Danvers version (to much applause and buzz from the audience and thus fans). Why? Because Carol Danvers is arguably the most well-known and well-liked iteration of the character. Ofc you're gonna use the best and most well known version of the character.
So, the fact that The Flash filmmakers have NOT said she is Kara, tells me that she will in fact be the Kara version. (Hope that all makes sense).
Now, I could be totally wrong on this. And I accept that 100%.
But I'm willing to bet (Gentlemen's Bet as I don't really gamble) she will be the DCEU Kara Zor-El Supergirl.
Peace.

I have to agree with you. The thing that turns Supergirl or WW what they are is that they are powerful and just super being feminine. It is not necessary build something that doesn’t represent what these Superheroines always were and fortunately they didn’t screwed with WW in the movies in this wayI kind of hate how un-feminine she looks. It's like they're going out of their way to erase her sexuality or womanhood. It's just gross to me.

Lots of toxicity with so little known.
All I see is a dark haired girl wearing a tight suit with a harness underneath.
I’ll reserve my criticism until after I’ve seen the film.

We have no idea which version of supergirl this is going to be. We don’t know what the story is going to be.

I agree with that. Was there this much agita when Dean Cain (Asian) was cast as Superman or Jessica Alba (also Latina) was cast as the Invisible Woman? We have no idea which version of supergirl this is going to be. We don’t know what the story is going to be.

First thing Jessica did was to dye her hair, use blue contacts, and conform to the character as shown in the comics. That blunted any criticism.
