WW Production Reports & Photos

This is how I feel. Wonder Woman is dying. She has been reduced to a Halloween costume and no one really knows anything else about her. She NEEDS to be in a movie or TV show, and WB does not trust her drawing power enough to put her in a movie.

Some of the rumors about this show, I don’t like, but TV series, like comic books, are constantly evolving. If they try stuff and it doesn’t work, they can change it as they go along. Did fans like every single Batman movie or TV show? Did they like every single Superman movie or TV show? No. But creators kept trying different stuff with those characters.

That is what kept Batman and Superman vital and alive in the public mind. Creators keep experimenting with them, while Wonder Woman has been left on the sidelines. She is becoming like the Lone Ranger, a character people know about, but have no personal connection to. This could be the worst TV series ever, and I would still be grateful for it, because it will inspire better TV series down the road. They didn’t stop making Batman movies because of “Batman and Robin”, nor Superman movies because of “Superman IV”. They examined what went wrong and tried again.

Bad TV shows and movies won’t be the death of Wonder Woman. Having NO TV shows and movies will be the death of Wonder Woman.

This is a quote from some person named "QTime" in the comments section of the link Random provided a couple of posts above.

I really couldn't have said it better myself. I'm grateful that someone is actually giving WW a shot.

Of course, I think she has a bigger hill to climb than Superman or Batman and, honestly, she has a bigger tide against her (meaning "society norms", political correctness, etc...). I get the feeling from reading various boards and comments sections that there are people rooting for the show to fail just because it contains a strong, powerful woman. Not only that, they hope to bring it about by trying to marshal public opinion against it.

Obviously, I'm biased the other way and want the show to succeed but what happened to just letting things happen and see how they turn out? These weasel-like people already dissing the show before they've even seen one second of film is disturbing.

Okay, rant off...

Generally quoted for truth. WW is a difficult character to handle, she's known but lacks the degree of iconicity that Superman or Batman enjoy.

I don't think she's in the military. There is some scuttlebutt on the whole "3 identities" thing, saying that "concept" is being over exaggerated. The script itself says she has two identities (if I find the screen shot of that page, I'll post it). The whole three identities -- from somehow in the know -- was described as her heroine personna (WW), her secret identity (Diana Prince) and "who she is" (Diana Themiscyra). That same person drew an interesting parallel to Clark Kent/Superman/Kal-El, mentioning that we don't say Superman has THREE identities. Time will tell, I suppose....

Today could be the day we might see some leaked photos of WW in action! Today and tomorrow, Hollywood Blvd is being shut down for production, presumably for the big "chase scene" with WW tracking down some bad guys.

I'm curious how the pilot for the series could be, I've only seen glimpses of smallville on TV, the image of superman, and the way the characters acted never got my interest. It seemed to me that it was all about- "let's talk about this dude and that dude, and this dude has this going with that one, and this one with that one- and..dadada..". That was truly not what I did expect from a series which featured humans and ueberhumans. It was in fact maybe a bit like a soup with superheroes inside?

Will wonderwoman do better? Maybe smallville for the 2000s was the right thing to do, because seen from the rearmirror of my own life, the 2000s were a big hole with not much inside of it.

The problem however could be that they try(and that's really the thing) to make it right, and that means that you have a lot of blabla going on again. If I would have a say(and you don't have to remind me that I've not), I would suggest, from a timeline sensitive point of view: 30-40%action, acting her powers out 50-60% talking, laying out the plot/content. That's the thing at least to me, that I have doubts that it will turn out this way, for various kinds of reasons(and from the producer/director point of view their are a lot of reasons to not think this way!).

No pics yet, but at least we know there is some action! This was tweeted a few hours ago from Liz Hurley's twitter account:

"Wait til u see Wonder Woman herself; she looks phenomenal. Adrianne is gorgeous and, wow, can she fight!"

Hmm.... :)

OK...in addition to the vids posted before (thx guys), here is a compilation of video and pics from yesterday's costume shoot. As was pointed out, the costume has been slightly altered (I mentioned earlier in another thread it supposedly wasn't gonna be) with red boots now and a different/darker fabric for the pants. Amazingly, it appears, the production team has listened to the general public, as these were the two biggest complaints. Hopefully, they also listened when the fans were bitchin about some of the script. In any case, I think they just locked in more fans with this simple change -- eventhough I personally didn't think the first costume was that bad. In any case, here is the new costume "in action":

I beginning to admire the way the producers are going about this show.

I mean, first, the script gets leaked and is widely panned, so they change it (at least from what I understand) and take the character more seriously. Then, a picture of the costume gets leaked and is widely panned, with the biggest complaints being the shiny pants and blue boots. They then change those to what most people were calling for.

I mean, it seems like they are actually listening to the fans. At least as much as they can anyway. Of course, some people are never going to be pleased...

What's with all the vitriol on the daily mail site? A lot of bitter sounding people out there!

I'm getting really excited about this now and definitely agree that the costume looks better now - good work producers!

Interesting that she gets knocked over by a car and gets up... Maybe an indication that she will be super strong but not supergirl super strong.. If you know what I mean..

the daily mail is a right-wing news paper here in the uk so it's not surprising that comments posted are nasty.

if you google Adrianne Palicki breast implants you get virtually 100's of sites claiming that she has implants and that the outfit was designed to show them off.

I'm not liking that fact that she's wearing flat soled boots, where is the high heels.

Well I got a few thoughts on this:

1) Any Wonder Woman TV show is better than no Wonder Woman TV show....
2) When LC took over the role they made costume changes...which were taken up by the comics after....
3) They seem to have made changes to the costume in line with the majority view on the net ....

4) ....when I rightclick on the pics googlechrome refuses to allow a save option. Yep. That's right. I want to save the pics. I like the look of it so far. I'm not over the moon, yet, but I like it so far.

5) Lets wait and see what other surprises/changes they have for us ;)

6) ....why can't I save the pics?

1) true
2) i also heard that
3) it does seem to me that they are taking the views on board
4) i'm also not over the moon on it
5) i agree
6) it's a anti piracy measure that's built in to the forum software, i'm looking in to it, i would suggest that you ask lfan to add them to a new album in the album in the imagebank that way you can get them.
