I haven't watched Dr. Who for many years. Haven't even thought about it until this came up. And now I'm suddenly interested in the upcoming season.

Maybe that will work for others too and give them a big bump in viewers.

in the past female Time Lords were referred to as Time Lady. (e.g. Romana). They still referred to the race as Time Lords though.

As someone who's sailed clear of "Dr. Who" for a lifetime (and I can just guess that this it what it's all about), are there any superfemales or feats of strength by females in this show?

Otherwise, I don't quite understand the fuss and I'd be all for a new lovely female "Dr.".

I have to confess, and agree, that outfit is like....umm....ah......hmm.....wtf????

Pretty sure I'm not the only one in that I get the idea is a tribute to the past. If I have my Doctors correct, it seems to be a fusion of Colin Baker + Sylvester Mccoy (maybe?) /shrug

And if its true, that the actors get to pick (or at least have a big say) in their own outfits, was Jodie on drugs when they asked her lol

Still, even in that getup, Jodie Whittaker is so damn gorgeous

Looking forward to the new series (even if it is still a year away)

She looks so goofy in that get up.
All of these modern Doctors have been so stylish.
WTH were they thinking.
Slyvester McCoy looked like a hobo and he was no Screen Idol to begin with.
Colin Baker looked like a clown and again, no leading man good looks.
Jody is a beauty and she is wearing such a mish mash.
The last women to wear horizontal stripes across her chest were the female Ghostbusters.
And look how well that movie turned out.

I also thought Mork. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

The long light-colored coat is sort of similar to Peter Davison's cricket frock. But overall, I think they are channeling Patrick Troughton's "cosmic hobo" with the braces and oversized trousers. My guess is she'll be one of the nicer Doctors, as opposed to the crotchety, impatient ones.
