Another Supergirl on Smallville

The Bionic Woman is a hit. Kara sends Smallville's ratings sky-high. The uberwomen on Kyle XY and Sarah Connor Chronicles become "fan favorites."

Superwomen are the "new big thing" in Hollywood -- bigger than reality TV. Executives scramble to get on the bandwagon. How will writers and producers be able to meet the demand?

Then someone in Hollywood discovers this site ...

TV networks bid furiously for the rights to "Milena's Diary." A major studio offers millions for the rights to "Atalanta." The Sci-Fi Channel wants to turn "The Project" into a mini-series. And so on.

Of course, we SWManiacs keep our wits about us. Rather than sign away our intellectual property, we demand creative control. We supervise the casting process. We have veto power over every detail of the scripts based on our stories. And of course, we see to it that we have unlimited special-effects budgets.

We take our money, quit our day jobs, and devote ourselves to writing full-time ...

So the title of the first episode of SmVl season 7 is "Bizzaro" ~ and there is more confirmation from CW that SG in SmVl is legit. I wonder what episode she'll first show up in.

Could the Smallville writing and casting be better? Absolutely.

But this is the only place we are going to see Kara Zor-el in a prime-time (read 'decent special effects') production in the near future.

Those of us who are 'true believers' will always want more. But we think in terms of fetish, and that's not going to sell on prime-time.

So I'll be more than content with whatever we get.

I agree on SmVl casting ~ however ~ to me it falls between the SOAPS and the big three prime time casting ~ which isn't *too* bad. The actors are okay but it's clear they were targeting demographics.

Regarding the only good effects being in prime time ~ Ouch Shadar Ouch.

I should qualify that statement... the only expensive effects. Yours are pretty darn good. But you aren't competing with Hollywood yet... but with time and technology... the gap is closing for sure.

Your videos are a thousand percent better than anything like themtwo years ago.

Sombody posted at IMDB's Smallville message board that Krisi Ballentine is in talks to play Kara. The same is said at DC Comics message board.

Once you unplug your speakers, that's a very enjoyable clip.

My goodness... if Krisi is going to play Kara, methinks they got it right this time. She not only fits pretty close to the current comic book (although Krisi is bustier), but her look is amazingly right for Kara.

Can we vote? My hand's raised. Both hands. Wonder who decided to talk to her and how much influence he or she has. Clearly, Krisi would draw in the viewers on looks alone, let alone the fact that she's Supergirl.

Nice quick little photoenhance... I see you liked that pict too... I have to admit, it was one of my fav's. The mystery of what's underneath... first that exotic costume and then... madness.

Unfortunately, the show's director says 'flights but no tights'. The premise of the show is no costumes.

On the other hand, she can fly and Clark can't (yet). She grew up on Krypton and left as a teenager, then went into suspended animation while Clark grew up. She was supposed to arrive when he was a baby and raise him. Now she's a year or two younger than him.

But, she's a true blue Krypt, by birth, by upbringing, culture, etc. She's just been timewarped a bit.

Clark is Kryptonian by genetics, but otherwise is thoroughly human. Upbringing, culture, mores, thinking... all human.

It'll be interesting how a Kryptonian-raised girl interfaces with a human-thinking Krypt who doesn't even know how to use all his powers.

Apparently, from the spoilers, one of the first things she'll do is to teach him to fly.

Man... she can take flying any day.
