Somebody posted at Smallville's message board at IMDB that actress Elizabeth Harnois is up for the role of Kara. She had a recurring role on the CW's One Tree Hill. I thinks it's more likley that someone like her would get cast, than sombody like Ballentine. People that have had recurring roles on various CW/WB show have a tendency to get cast as regulars on other CW show.s. Case in point, the two leads from Supernatural. Padalecki had a role on Gilmore Girls. Jensen had a role on Smallville.

Well ~ after the last rumor that's a bit of a let down.

She's cute, but looks small/short. She'd need to tone up those arms a bit and de-mouse herself IMHO. She has acting experience at least.

I don't think she is spin off worthy, she passes as a support character, but I don't know about the lead.

A little disappointing ~ but not the end of the world.

I've never watched One Tree Hill, can't recall seeing Elisabeth Harnois in anything else. But having spent a few minutes checking out her gallery at www.e-harnois.com , I hope she at least makes the cut. She's in her mid-twenties, but could pull off playing a teenager, and she has more acting experience than most of the other actresses who've been mentioned on this thread. Just judging from her pictures, I can see her giving the role of Kara a nice mix of innocence and sassiness:

Brian Robbins and Joe Davola, who ex produce Smallville also ex produce One Tree Hill. Even if they don't go with Harnois, I bet they go with somebody who's appeared on OTH or another WB produced show.

She was downright hott in Point Pleasant and I think she 100% looks the part!
I know people might be skeptical on the choice, but I give her a thumbs up.

Whomever it turns out to be, we won't be in suspense too long... whoever they hire will appear or be announced at Comic-Con in San Diego on July 26-29, per the producers of the show.

Which makes sense since they have to go into production soon.

News has it that they'll do the reveal of the casting July 28th at SDCC. One would think it would be leaked before then, but apparently it HASN'T been cast yet....

There was a funny youtube video up by a comic shop about comic con 101 ~ I'll have to refind it.

Iv'e been going to Wizard World Chicago since back when it was called Chicago-Comic-Con. At this years WWC, the will have a panel promting The Dark Knight, the second Batman film since they are shooting it in town. Last year, I saw Kristen Bell signing autograghs. Lots and lots of people go to WWC, almost as many as San Diego.

I worked at NYCC last December (i think it was... or January/February? all I know is it was f'n cold!) It was a blast. Definitely worth going to - the San Diego one is supposed to be the biggest of them all (with the most cosplayers

Recently I went to FloridaSuperCon (www.floridasupercon), and it was very much cool. Got to meet a few of the artists I've commissioned before (Joe Pekar, etc) as well as nabbed a really cool Speed Racer/Racer X vintage bobblehead! :P

Not a top tier show like Wizard Word, DragonCon, SDCC, or NYCC but there were a bevy of cosplay cuties including the Hero Alliance team visiting from Tampa.

This was the second convention, the first one having featured the Awakening (www.theawakeningmovie.com) as one of their showcases in their film festival. Unforatunately, due to work, I couldn't attend that one....

Still, this one was pretty cool....

Michael Ausiello says that the CW is almost ready to cast Kara. They are going to sign a "relatively obscure" actress to the role. We should know who she is in the next 24 to 48 hours.
