The Superwoman of Metropolis – Part Two

Chapter 4

Olsen turned around quickly and seeing no one, he was momentarily confused. And then he looked up at the floating Superwoman and his jaw dropped.

“You were expecting someone else,” the Maiden of Might inquired.

Stunned, Jimmy stuttered, “um Yes, er no, ah it’s just, it’s just that Superman usually comes when I activate my signal watch.”

“He is away on a long mission in space. I am a friend of his and he asked me to keep an eye on Earth in his absence.”

“Well who are you and where did you come from,” Jimmy just managed to get out.

“You can call me Superwoman for now and when Superman gets back from his mission, you can ask him all about me. Is there anything else I can do for you, Mr. Olsen? “

“If it is not too much trouble, can I snap a few pictures of you for the Planet?”

Sure. “How is this,” she asked while assuming the classic fists on hips power pose while Jimmy snapped away. “Or this,” as she  extended her fisted right arm while flexing her right hip and extending her left leg while bringing  her  left arm in as if she was streaking off skyward. “And how about a few slow passes,” as she few horizontally by him right to left with her arms and legs extended and her body rotated just slightly to showcase her magnificent breasts.

Jimmy was getting aroused by the display, a fact that was not lost on Lois. “I don’t need my super vision to tell me that you have had about all you can take,” she said while smiling coyly. “Perhaps later tonight we can get together for some more intimate pictures?”

Jimmy was stunned but just managed to get out, “When and where?”

“Your place, ten pm. And I like white wine with frozen shrimp,” the stunning superheroine added. “And now it is time for me to go up, up and away!”

Dumbfounded, Jimmy looked up just in time to see a faint red and blue dot disappear over the city. “Better hustle back to the Planet and get these photos developed before the stores close,” he thought to himself.

One month later…

“Give Clark a break Chief. He has only been back to work for a week now,” Lois implored.

“Yes and in that time he has done nothing. And he was the guy that walked right in front of that truck.”

“Just what would you like me to do Mr. White?”

“Oh I don’t know Kent. How about you come up with some news worth printing!”

Lois paused to let Perry go back into his office. “It’s a lot harder to get stories now that you don’t have super powers isn’t Clark,” she inquired.

“A little, I guess,” he responded grossly understating the situation.

“Don’t worry Clark. With my powers, I can get more than enough stories for both of us.”

An annoyed Clark snapped back, “But then what will Jimmy get,” he inquired.

“Oh, there are plenty of other things I can give him besides stories,” she replied. “Now do you want the story on the theft ring down at the docks or not,” she snapped back.

Trying to suppress his anger, Clark meekly responded back, “Thanks Lois. Hopefully that will get Perry off my back.”

As the days passed, Clark was getting more and more frustrated with Lois. She did fly him to the Fortress where he underwent extensive testing, but all it revealed was that the power transfer was permanent which didn’t seem to bother her much.

Without his Super mind and powers, there was no way that he could hope to construct another power transfer machine. Lois suggested that he wear a signal watch like Jimmy’s, but he hated having to summon her with it. It was just so humiliating for him every time he had to use it. There was only one other person on earth that he could turn to for help, but he wasn’t quite ready to go crawling to him just yet.

Chapter Five

Lois was out on her evening patrol when she saw a liquor store robbery in progress. The young punk looked nervous as he pointed his revolver at the female clerk who was frantically trying to fill up a plastic bag with all the money in the registrar. She quickly handed it over to the little hoodlum and then he made a beeline for the door.

Just after he cleared the door, a red boot came out of nowhere striking his right shin which sent him tumbling to the ground skinning his hands and knees. He rolled over and looked back only to find a beautiful woman in a red and blue outfit standing in front of him. “Going somewhere,” she inquired.

In a panic, he raised his gun and fired six shots at the Maiden of Might. She let the first 4 rounds bounce off her chest and breasts and then she caught the last two. Swiftly, she grabbed a tow chain out of a truck bed and flew up a telephone pole while securing the chain around his ankles and then the pole. Hanging upside down, he was getting sick.

“It’s not nice to shoot people as you are about to find out. This won’t kill you, but you will remember it for a long time,” the Woman of Steel lectured. Lois flicked her fingers and fired two rounds into his buttocks as the man screamed out in pain.

She thought to herself, “I am sure that Clark would not approve of what I did, but the crime rate is down by 70% since I took over patrolling Metropolis.”

It was almost midnight as she resumed her patrol. Metropolis was unusually quiet so she decided to head south to what was now her fortress. Rocketing up to space at Mach 5 she quickly escaped the atmosphere and then sped up to a leisurely five hundred miles per second. In less than a minute, she was at her Antarctica destination. She grabbed the giant key to the massive door and unlocked it and replaced the key.

Tuning in to the BBC, she listened to see if there were any world disasters that needed her help but apparently there were none. She turned on the AP teletype but it too was pretty tame.

“Time to sit back and relax,” she thought to herself. Superman’s uniform caught her eye. “Hmm, maybe I could use that to make myself a really sexy bikini or perhaps an eye catching short miniskirt.”

Chapter Six

Two weeks later…

“Kent, you have got to come up with some stories that we can print! You know how this works, either print or perish”, Perry shouted.

Clark knew that he had to do something. He went up to the roof, hit his signal watch and jumped. Within a few seconds, Superwoman appeared and took him back up to the roof.

“What in the world were you thinking Clark. If I had not been close by you could have died!"

“What I was thinking was that when I was Super, I saved your life many times and now you won’t help me get any scoops!”

“Let’s get something straight Clark. Without your powers, all you do is get into trouble that you can’t handle. You don’t have many contacts because you used to use your super hearing and X-Ray vision to get your stories. You are timid and shy and afraid of your own shadow. Let’s face it Clark, you are not cut out for this type of work!”

“I am sorry that it has come to this Lois, but if you will not help me then I will have to print my last great story by exposing your true identity.”

No sooner had he finished his last word did he find himself rocketing skyward.

Lois stopped at 15,000 feet over a large body of water. “Now get this straight through your skull! You do not have the skills to be a reporter and you are a pretty lousy Blackmailer as well. I will give you two choices. I would suggest that you hand Perry your resignation today and go look up your good friend Batman A.K.A Bruce Wayne. I am sure he can find a safe job for you like something in Public Relations or Personnel for his company. If you don’t, I assure you that you are going to get wet! So what is it going to be Clark?”

Clark had never seen Lois this furious. “God why did I ever give her powers,” he thought to himself. I guess they were right when they said absolute power corrupts absolutely!

“Since you are not going to make up your mind, I guess I will have to make that decision for you,” the Woman of Steel said as she released her captive.

"She’s bluffing," Clark thought to himself. He had seen Lois upset before, but never like this. God, I don’t want to die, but maybe it will be for the best. Get ahold of yourself Kent! You were Superman! You can let a mere girl get the better of you! Maybe Bruce can help. I can always kill myself latter. “Ok Lois you win! I promise that I will never reveal your secret,” he shouted but there was no response and Superwoman was nowhere in sight. “Damn, you idiot”, he thought to himself as the water came rushing up.

Clark was in a daze. His head was spinning and his legs were freezing.

“I told you that you would get wet,” a familiar voice rang out who had a death grip on his jacket.

“Ok, ok, I will turn in my resignation to Perry, but before I do, there is one more story that I would like to finish.”

“I know I am going to regret this, but go ahead and spill it.”

“I have a good lead on the elusive boss of the syndicate who has been coordinating all the thefts and murders down at the docks. If my info is correct, he will be at a meeting tonight at ten pm but he will have an army of thugs with him.”

“Alright Clark, I will do this for you but you have to promise me that when it is over, you will leave Metropolis and get a job with Bruce Wayne in Gotham."

“I promise that I will. I would like to go an hour earlier so I can set up my tape recorders. Would that be alright?”

“Sure.” “Anything to get you out of my hair for the rest of my life,” The Woman of Steel thought to herself.

Chapter Seven

Superwoman met Clark on the roof of his apartment at nine sharp. She carried him upward with her right arm and lugged his equipment in her left. In no time, they were in the warehouse setting up the mics and the recorders. When Lois' back was turned, Clark grabbed a green rock and ran over to the Maiden of Might.

Lois suddenly felt weak and turned toward Clark who was coming right at her.

She fired a blast of heat vision at the deadly threat which forced Clark to drop it. The Woman of Steel felt more like the girl of putty as she collapsed to the floor and just managed to kick the glowing lethal object away from her but it was too late. Clark was coming back at her with two more pieces of the pain inducing Green Kryptonite. She fired her last burst of heat vision at his chest which had no visible effect.

“Got’ya now you bitch,” Clark screamed out as he placed each green rock down her uniform next to her breasts.

“Clark, PLEASE don’t do this. Earth needs a Super Protector to fight off invaders and to respond to natural disasters. And the pain! It is terrible.”

“Don’t worry Lois. It will all be over soon. If I can’t use my own Super Powers then no one else should be able to, especially a woman like you!"
