Anybody interested in DAZ3D commisions?

10 Mar 2017 14:19 - 14 Mar 2017 19:24 #53072 by njae
Hey there,

As the title suggests, I’m dipping my toes in commission work.

I’ve been tinkering around with DAZ3D lately and over the time got myself quite the toolbox fit for rendering. This toolbox may pale against the very professional artists who already use more than one graphics card for their renders, but it’s a lot more than the free stuff you get along with DAZ itself.
In general you can expect the basic morphs for the Genesis 3 family, as well as several character morphs (Victoria 7, Karen 7, Eva 7, Olympia 7, Michael 7, Leo 7 …) and of course – wardrobe and props that were chosen with ubergirls in mind. One such example would be the alien plant I bought just for a scene of my MMM story .

In order to get a feeling what to expect, here's the current price list. Changes are possible, currently 1€ is about 1.06$
Prize per character (simple characters as shown in the promos):5€
3 simple Characters in a picture10€
Background via Photoshop image:3€
Background as 3D Environment:5-10€*
Extra for nudity:5-15€*
Extra for high resolution:5-10€*

(*) In general the longer the render takes the more it costs. There can be high resolution images that render fast, or lower resolutions that still render long because the overall scene is complex.

So if you have any wishes for a character or scene feel free to contact me via PM or mail njaehae@web.de.

Kind regards
Njae

Ok, maybe I should give a few promo shots to show what can be done with my resources:

Mixed Morphs (Redhead is mostly Karen 7)

Victoria 7 (the outfit/hair are frequently used in Promos for her)

Early work of mine, so it's also Victoria combined with general morphs

Combination of Characters

The cape pictures are Victoria 7

This one it Rune 7

Olympia 7, Victoria 7 and Karen 7

You're pretty good. If I had any dollars I'd surely commission one for myself

Well I guess the currency shouldn't be the problem with paypal. I'm more into Euros anyway.

Thats some nice work.

Try rendering in layers instead of the whole scene in one. That should help speed up the rendering process for complicated scenes.

Keep up the good work.

Peace.

Thanks for the advice. So far the biggest challenge were dark scenes, the render time was reduced a lot by adding more light. And of course a dressing room with mirrors which makes it hard to render in layers.

For the record, I opened up a new DA account so that my signature doesn't link to my old, dead one.

I've recently become aware that DAZ3D isn't the best when it comes to large scale destruction as objects usually aren't used in a destroyable form.

The same can't be said for clothes, especially when great powers come with great hotness.

Larger version to be posted at DA.

Could you post a quick overview of the models you can use? Or are there too many? You listed a few names in your initial post, but I don't know what they look like.
Can the models interact with each other? As in "Karen 7 dressed as supergirl forces Model 123xyz to her knees" or something?

When you get DAZ, it comes with the free figures calles Genesis, Genesis 2 and Genesis 3 in both male and female versions.

The Characters I talk about consist of the following:
- Morphs that apply to Genesis 3 Female (Body shape and head shape separately)
- Textures for Skin and Eyes

That's it. Good news is that the morphs come with a dial and since they are meant for the same base figure, everything can be mixed around to get a unique look. The Starter and Pro packs for the characters usually come with a few more characters in it, whose morphs essentially require the other characters morphs to be applied.

Here's the current list of DAZ Original Characters I own with a short description based on what the closes/poses that come with them say:

Victoria 7, the current standard for DAZ women as she's a reference to the old Victoria models that predate the Genesis models. Outfits like "Viligante Outfit" (that's the black and red combination above) indicate she's no stranger to action.
Eva 7 is mostly a fashion model type.
Karen 7 is DAZ' version of a female superhero and features heavily in my pictures - usually with added muscle/breast-size ad her base body is rather slim and toned.
Olympia 7, as the name suggest is meant as a greek goddess. She's got more womanly curves to go with it.
Rune 7 is a female barbarian. Thus her body shape is a bit more muscular and stacked than Karen 7, actually their morph go well with one another. Some of her textures contain war paint and blood.
Mika 7 is a fairy/elf. She's short, comparably stacked and somewhat resistant to bulkiness.

For comparison pictures just google the character name including the number, Google will show you pictures right away. Next in line would probably be an Asian character like Mei Ling 7 or Aiko 7.

And here's a picture of Michelle human (based on Mika 7) and Michelle's super (Combination of Karen 7 and Rune 7) form.

Hair and clothes can be mixed and matched as well. There's also a lot of other morphs that can be applied to Genesis 3 that changes their appearance, making them more/less muscular/fat/tall etc.

Of course, characters can interact with one another. Fighting and bringing to her knees is totally feasible, ripping her arm of on the other hand would be hard in DAZ.

Fiddling around with Shaders, suddenly this chick has a reason to look scared of that green stuff around her. But we all know she doesn't have to be scared, right?

I was tinkering around with Photoshop and the textures used by DAZ3D.

There's the scene in MMM where Michelle cosplays as a certain alien...

And here I went all the way to make a full costume.

Not bad, I think that the shirt looks really good and the texture enhances the sense of it being a solid object. Unfortunately some of the other bits are good, but need a little more love. The boots and cape in particular, I think would benefit from a less satureate red that would make the drapery more pronounced.

It's been a while since I last posted here, guess I was busy making these:

First is a scene commissioned by Agent00Soul:

(I had to make it a bit smaller to fit in here)

And here we have Lulu's idea of what a decent ubergirl should be able to lift one-handed:

I really like this sequence and the difference between before and after is really noticeable, although the main character face isn't that different.

I have to admit I found very ironic that she's talking at her cell in the first picture and she had to rush into a phone booth to change

The change might be quick, but finding a phone booth is going to take some time. Are they even a thing anymore?

In Italy there are still some, but most of them are scheduled to be taken down soon (usually they're keeping only those in remote locations, like mountain villages and so on where landlines are more efficient than wireless).

Also, I know that in London the are a few booths that are being kept for "historical value".

Comic book silliness: She gets the trouble alert from her smartphone, but still goes to a phone booth to change.

In a world where superheroines need to be able to change outfits "on the fly", portable instantly-inflatable phone booths would be a thing. Probably a Kickstarter project at first.

Actually in the scene the phone booth is about 10ft away from her in the first picture. Would be left next to the camera.

Kickstarting superhero gear might be worth exploring a little bit.
