Short workshop - Halloween 2016
Here we have our first short timed theme, the idea behind this is to give writers a theme and a restriction in one of the guidelines, this I hope will give you something meaty to work with.
The theme for this first workshop is "a Ubergirl's first Halloween"
The start date: 1 October 2016
The end date: 30 October 2016
Voting will be one week only and will be by forum vote.
the winner Will get to choose the theme of the next short workshop
Any questions please post them here.

I'll be offline a fair chunk of this month, but I hope to have something before the deadline. Given that about a dozen different ideas went trick-or-treating through my brain just reading the theme, I look forward to a diverse array of tales to be pulled from the candy sack come the 31st .

Anyone want to give it look over before I submit it? It could probably use someone to knock some of the edges off it. It's about 3300 words.
I'll plan to do another edit pass on it tomorrow and submit it tomorrow night.
Hm. Is it due at the start of the 30th or the end? i.e. is it due Saturday night, right as it turns the 30th, or is it due Sunday night? (Just in case I find someone to edit it and I need Sunday to give it another pass.)
I'd prefer to get someone to make some suggestions on it, but I did write it quickly like I wrote Fog of War -- the point was to WRITE, not get hung up on things, so doesn't matter. I'd probably submit it as is if I needed to.

I can take a quick look. I'm going to be in critique/feedback mode this afternoon anyway. Email or share with geekseven99 at gmail.com.

Thanks to Geekseven for the edits and suggestions, they were very helpful. I'm much happier with the story now. I'm even happier that I actually got off my ass and WROTE something.
I'm curious to read what everyone else has written.

I can try, but that's a very tight window.

Thanks for the offer. Means a lot! I had geekseven give it a look over, I made some needed changes and then submitted it.

In passing, he hurls a crumpled ball of writing paper over the fence with just a few hours to spare...
He races away, cackling madly.

Anyway, hopefully that was ok, it should be before the deadline. It wasn't much, but it made the story flow smoother, fixed a few typos that when I saw them bothered me... (etc).

It did get me off my arse though in terms of writing which was one of my goals this season.
Look forward to reading everyone's entries!
