Gwen Stacy Spider-Woman was created by AJF
September's Edge Of Spider-verse #2 is the first appearance of an alternate Earth Gwen Stacy who was bitten by the radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker.

Makes me wish they give Emma Stone a good staring role. She was pretty much the only really good thing about the last two spiderman movies. Be curious what she could do with her own movie.

Nice! Being Gwen is the daughter of a police captain, there is probably going to be a bit of the Commissioner Gordan/Batgirl vibe going on as well. When is the street date?

At the end of Edge of Spiderverse, Bleeding Cool reporte that Peter Parker will be stranded on an alertenate earth and Gwen Stacy Spiderwoman will be stranded on Earth 616 mainstream Marvel U earth for several months.

At NYCC, this week Marvel announced that the Gwen Stacy Spider-woman would be getting her own monthly title in Feb 2015. The creative team was not listed.

No, No i wouldn't say that-
The way comics work if they decided to do a comic today(comics are a much smaller investment the movies and they tend to be a little quicker in annoucing them)- febuary is about when it would come out. baring some real misstep. I suspect that where going to at least get 4 or 5 issues of her.
I Saw one or two big websites talk about the character and the concept which seems to have made some traction in the world-series traction at least. A lot of comparisons to the New Batgirl Softreboot, which i suspect there going to position this as.

Marvel seemingly going all-in with the "spider femmes".....in addition to Gwen getting her own book, they announced that Silk (the other girl that was bitten by the spider with Peter) is getting her own series in 2015 as well......

I'd never heard of Silk so I looked her up on Comic Vine. Looks like a cool update of Peter's powers. It's also interesting to see she has inherited a bit more of the spider instincts that he did.
