I came across this Kickstarter project. From sample pages it looks definitely promising.

Thanks! for some reason I didn't support the Kickstarter, which really isn't like me.

So Immediately went over to Comixology and bought this. I'll try to get around to reading it and saying what I thought about it!

I picked this up and finally got around to reading it last night.

Very well done, and I'm glad i picked it up. I'll buy more in the series. It's a bit short, but still tells it's story and sets things up (it is a #0 issue after all).

The art is pretty good ... there is something about the open mouth expressions/teeth that seem off in the comic, but the art and posing were pretty good, and it does serve the story well. The costume are a bit ... porn star? for me. (And i'm not talking about the scenes where she's naked, those seem ok to me, and just demonstrated how comfortable she is with her body) There is enough of the story that you don't know (yet) was is going on, and that's pretty good. Nothing gets in the way, but it leaves the comic open for more stories.

The coloring is excellent, and really compliments the art (it makes our bad girl look even better).

Most taken by the size/build/strength of the villain in the comic, she's really imposing. Large and yet still very sexy (even if she doesn't think so). But her costume is just silly to me (esp if she thinks she's hideous), she'd really wear leather butt floss? She's a bit ... lopsided in her characterization and seems crazy/one dimensional in this issue, but there are hints that there might be more going on. I think that will come out as we learn more about what happened, and the side effects of the process that gave them powers. She claims she is just angry all the time, is this an affect of the process, or is it due to how she deals with her change? We don't know yet. And if so, what effects happened to our hero's personality?

Really this is a fertile ground for stories -- what personality changes would come with becoming super-human? I sure hope they deal with this (else then the villain is just one dimensional and thus fairly boring). But I love thinking just what would happen if suddenly you were full of energy all the time, all the little aches and pains of life are gone, and nothing hurt you (not feeling other things is a big downside, but let's just go with positive things for now). No fear that you might accidentally touch the hot cast iron skillet, or pull something hot out of the oven. Just being full of energy (virtually tireless) and everything being light and easy to deal with. And never have to worry about any physical danger. That alone would slowly change someone. But what if the changes actually had psychological effects? It makes sense if your biology changed that much. Some other stores have dealt with this (like Brandon Sanderson's Steelheart, or even She-Hulk).

Might not be good that I seem more interested in the villain, but those questions might apply to Ember too, there were some hints with her too. She did change from being spoiled brat. Why is that? Is it just having an opportunity and rising to the challenge, or is it a side effect of her powers and she really has changed?

And the comic seems to get right the dangers of fighting someone that strong/powerful.

It's well worth taking a look at/encouraging more to be made (doubly so if you happen to like super-powered women on the muscular side too). glad it was mentioned here so I could go get a copy. (Comixology is always open.)
