Supergirl Web 3.0 page
Pre-Crisis Supergirl Chronology
This is a little fun experiment I've been working on recently; I'm putting this beta-test link out to check if the idea works, and get some feedback. It's a 'Semantic Web' page based on the adventures of the Silver Age Supergirl. This is a very early work in progress, with only about 15 to 20% of the full data present. If there's enough interest I may open the page up to allow volunteer Supergirl fans to help fill out the remaining data, and correct any errors. As it's a semantic page, the more complete the dataset, the more powerful the page gets. (Is anyone up for this?)
For web designers and coders who may be interested: the page itself (excluding images and the code hosted at MIT) is less than 200k in size. This includes the HTML and data file. Even with all the cover thumbnails (only loaded when needed) the final site footprint will probably be less than 5Mb of hosting space. The Web 3.0 mechanics are based on the experimental work of a team at MIT lead by Tim Berners-Lee -- the page is based on their software toolkit.

It will probably help me track down a few stories I need to read.

I didn't really pick up Supergirl other than the random issues until about the 80's, so I have a haphazard collection. Now i'm trying to get my collection in order -- YEARS back some of it was in a basement that flooded and I was too depressed to properly inventory it and find out what I lost. So lately as I go to conventions I'm buying up old Supergirls (Adventure/Supergirl/Superman Family) as I know that I didn't have most of them. They're safe bets.
I'm finally getting around to cleaning up some things, and I'm making lists -- lists that would probably mean something to people here as they're almost all books with super-femmes in them. A convention is commissioning 1-2 pieces of original art, and buying $40-$80 of old comics. Now I'm actively archiving trying to find my nice uber-girl comics of my youth and see if I still have them, and re-buy the damaged ones. It's a fun way to spend a few hours a convention looking through boxes of comics for things to buy and take home...
This has been a big help to me.
