Yet another superwoman in DC was created by murdough
Well, DC added another super strong young woman to it's pantheon this week, in the form of Natasha Irons, the neice of John Henry Irons aka Steel. Making her superpowered debut in this week's issue of 52--a weekly "real time" series in the vein of 24 that covers the missing year between the end of Infinite Crisis and the current time frame in the regular books--she appears to have at least the basics--strength, speed, flight, and invulnerabilty--courtesy of Lex Luthor's new process designed to give normal folks any sort of powers. Problem is that in return, they become his slaves. Ms. Irons proceeded to beat the living hell out of her uncle. Who knows what'll come out of that.

Would anyone *not* bet that she won't get to keep the powers? *sigh*

This is not Natasha's first foray into superpowers - and I don't mean via the suit.
In the "Steel" series, she takes a dose of "Tar" to help Steel against a bunch of villians. She gets superstrength and enhanced resistance (though not quite to the level she gets in "52"). Several issues later, she takes another dose to help the Irons' family out of another jam.
The problem with "Tar" however is that too many doses and the user loses control - and often times it is fatal. In Steel 32 (I think), Natasha's use of Tar leads to adverse side-effects that are on full display in this issue.
