older photomanips

older photomanips was created by angels
does anyone remember a wizard from long ago who made his mark on the AU and found out that his work was being posted on other sites? He said he was quitting the whole scene, but I wonder if he pokes his head out from time to time. I wish I could remember his name, but his work was awesome and I'm hoping someone will clue me in. Thanks!

Um, there were so many good artists from that golden age, so I would need more hints to figure who you mean... I love that site, before Shadar moved from R to PG stories. :(

If you want to check out partial archives from the last updates of the old Aurora site, try this:
archives.ubergirls.org/AU3/
Unfortuately, not all of the image links still work, but it might help you recognize a particular artist's work.

Myself, I miss Eegore's stuff. He did more artwork than enhancements. I haven't seen any new work from him in a while. Also, Scoundrel's stuff. Both of them have been below the radar for a while.

Eegore's still around, though seems to be doing much more coloring of other people's work than his own nowdays. He did recently do a new FMG sequence that's available over in Dtv, Wreck-Shop's forums and the A Growing Concern yahoo group.

Ah well, semi on-topic but Wreck Shop's forum went down again (actually whole site) but Eegore has a site up, which mostly focuses on his preference for She-Hulk/Female Muscle Growth stuff, but also features a couple of sections of his colored versions of Tom Burgos art...

That's him!
Anyone know where this guy is at now?

I always wondered if he might show up again over the past few years, possibly under a different name.

The guy named Down&Out, who was among the best, changed his name to Daubster and put up this page:

home.swipnet.se/daubster/

It hasn't been updated for a year and a half, but some newer drawings there. They're in PDF's, so to get them into JPG's, you have to use a screen capture program. He got mad when I used some of this photos on the old AU, even though that made him pretty famous on the Net for a while.

But given his absence, I'll share some of the last (and largely unpublished works) he did for the AU. Amazing stuff. Long live Daubster/Down&Out.

The pictures all feature Daniela Pestova, one of my favorite Velorians.

And while I'm at it, you might enjoy my latest HQ illustrated story... it's a bit R-rated in parts, in a partial shift back to an older style. The PDF is kind of big, so you might download first. Story is called Tales of the Golden Planet - Scrumbles

While you have me on a roll, here are two drawings from the VERY early AU, circa 1996-1997.

velorian.org/auow/squeeze.gif
velorian.org/auow/sg_spce.gif

Definitely not work safe.

By the way, the squeeze.gif file is the earliest ever interpretation of an Velorian, drawn by a fan of the very first story I published about Aurora. The picture depicts a scene in that story that was a bit over the top.
