Marvel Heroes Online Game
marvelheroes.com/
Here's a summary of the things that are public, though
-Free to download and play
-You have a limited selection of characters (5) to chose to start with
-More characters and costumes are unlocked through boss drops or by paying for packages
-Diablo style gameplay (isometric adventure game)
And the important bit that's relative to SWM: Playable heroines at launch
-Black Widow
-Emma Frost
-Jean Grey
-Ms. Marvel
-Scarlet Witch
-Storm
and....Squirrel Girl.
This is only the initial lineup for launch, so I'm sure other iconic Marvel heroines (SHe-Hulk, Rogue, Invisible Woman, Mockingbird, ect.) will be arriving quickly

Is it kinda like the X-Men Legends 1+2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance games?
Any date estimate for open beta/full release?
Can you invite people to closed beta?

2) No estimates on open beta, full release is scheduled for late spring (May/June, probably)
3) No, no invites. You can get Beta access keys via Alienware and Curse. Also, if you buy a founder package, you get Beta access, although the character package you purchase doesn't apply until the game goes live. But Founder Packages start at $20 for a single character with 2 costumes (SPider-Man, Captain America, Ms. Marvel, etc.), $60 for a theme package (Iron Man +all the armor costumes, Avengers, X-Men, etc.) and $200 for the mega package that gives you every character and every costume in the game. Up to you how much you want to invest.

1. How many skills does a hero have and are they all active skills?
2. How many costumes are there for each character?
3. Are the costumes just different skins or do they also have different dialogue and such?

1) Can't answer that one
2) Depends on the character. Most have at least 4 costumes. Then you have Iron Man with 10 sets of armor...
3) Can't answer that one, either

I think mostly only skins, Some premium skins have different animations and at least 1 have different sounds.
There are some vids on youtube for those interested, I found one with ~20 min of in-game footage. But couldn't force myself through it. Can't really stand Athene.

And no, different costumes do not have different benefits; there's a different mechanic involved.

This weekend launched the early release for Marvel Heroes! ^^ (Tues 6/4, official launch date) I for one have purchased the Ms. Marvel starter pack and will be jumping in with a friend this week. Is anyone else going to play and if so, do you want to team up and find each other? My name is Superheroinefan and I hope to see some of you guys in game soon! ^^

New Female characters:
Invisible Woman
Rogue
Psylocke
X-23
Female Skins for Male Characters
Black Panther Shuri
Lady Deadpool
Ghost Rider Alejandra Blaze
Hawkeye Kate Bishop
Lady Loki
Thor Earth X
In addition, there's a new mechanic called a 'Team-Up' where you get an NPC 'pet' to assist you
Female Team-Up Characters
Arachne
Clea
Domino
Firestar
Gamora
Magik
She-Hulk
Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew)
Wasp
So, some improvements, but still a bit disappointing that She-Hulk and Wasp aren't playable characters yet. But I suppose slow growth is better than no growth.

Like a lot of Diablo clones it can be a bit click on a enemy to die, but It does a good job of making the characters feel different enough... and the worlds and enchounters diffrent looking at least even if it can be a touch formula. I didn't spend 100s of hours on it but its fun for what it is.
And Squirrel Girl once you level her up is pretty powerful. As she should be.

She-Hulk is on her way. You can pre-order her now singly or as part of a pack. And you play her wearing either the classic white & purple one piece or in her finest attorney-at-law attire.
Also, apparently Black Cat is on the horizon as a playable character.
New Costumes: Spider-Girl (May Parker) for Spider-Man
New Team-Up characters: Rescue and Spider-Gwen
