The old AU stuff is OK I guess, some people like the early stuff, but I wrote some weird shit for Diana the Valkyrie that was so bad that I cringe.

In general, that's the case. But Brantley my wide-ranging permission to repost and modify/extend/fix AU3 stuff, and in general earlier AU material as well.

But we hadn't talked about stuff outside the AU, and that was the issue.

Good point... AK was always very picky about where and how his stories were made available. And very sensitive to revealing his real identity. I believe I'm the only person who met with him and discussed such things. We used to talk writing and characters and the AU in general over cheap beers in a Mexican restaurant given we lived within a few miles of each other. For a while, we had a weekly teleconference with AK, Mac, Toomey and myself to do story planning. That was nearly 20 years ago.

The telecons ended when both Toomey and Mac died over a fairly short period of time while approaching the end of their first series of stories. In Toomey's case, an instantly fatal heart attack while driving to the park to do his jogginb. Then Mac augered in when the wing came off an experimental biplane he was looping. I know AK and I briefly wondered out loud if the Arions were coming after us for revealing their secrets. It was a joke, but not a very funny one given two friends and collaborators had just died. Reality got a bit twisted there for a bit. I shut down the AU for a while and AK disappeared sometime after that if I'm recalling correctly. Maybe the Arions got him too.

I recall when Mac passed. It happen less then a mile from my brothers place. It been a long time.
