I pulled my mom, some of my friends and some of my neighbors out of New York, they're safe. Though I think it's not wise to try and stop this storm, it could possibly affect the weather system a lot worse if I do. I'm just going to let this one ride out and help with clean-up and rebuilding.

You'd think that superspeed would make me more punctual, huh?

Just made it back after having the power out for days.

Pretty bad over here. Trees were literally uprooted by the wind and tossed onto power lines. So other sections of Jersey are underwater. And Atlantic City was closed for the first time in forever.

Still I guess it could have been worse. Power guy was telling me that it would be another 5 days or so before my areas grid was repaired. And not 5 minutes later (after my roar of despair and rage that shook the Jersey heavens) the power came back on.....

For the record, Syracuse is a 5-6 hour drive from New York City. In fact, its roughly equidistant between NYC and Cleveland, OH.

That said, I live in Queens, and NYC could have used a few superwomen this past week. In fact, I recall in a Kannigher-Peter era story (early 1950's) Wonder Woman stopped a tornado, so I'm sure she could have saved us. I should say though that we were lucky. Our apartment never lost power or even cable, though we have had to deal with three stir crazy kids. Many others in the region as a were nowhere near as lucky as that.
