I haven't been checking in with my usual regularity for the past couple of days. I'm in Paris with my wife and 11 high-school students . So the only time I can check in is around 11:00 p.m, after our charges have been sent to their rooms.
Anyhow ...
As the regulars are aware, I'm a "good" supergirl aficionado, though I've been known to work the other side of the street from time to time. As it happens, I've been working on a script for SexySuperHeroines that falls under the "crazy psycho bitch" rubric. So put me down for that one. If I don't have time to turn it into a conventional story, I can submit the script.
Julie -- Any chance you might write a sequel to "An Accident Waiting To Happen" as a second submission in the "dumb blonde" category?

In case of student dusputes, just go with the Mad Max rules. Two students in, one student out alive!
And if they really get out of hand, just threaten that you will take them to Euro Disney and ditch em!

Inspired by GeekSeven's "Pearl Harbor," I've started on an alternate version of "The Last Daughter of Krypton." She arrives on Earth in a different place and different time. I suppose the closest one on the list is #3.

Yags - I know a lot of us have appreciated your take on the ubergirl before - I don't know why that would change now.
All of my past stories for this site have been women with some sort of super strength, or another power that mimics it pretty well. That clearly fits the theme here. But I was told pretty clearly, years ago in another thread here, that other super powers without super strength were off topic.
I think being a superwoman is as much about the attitude as it is the type of abilities - it's all in how she uses them!
Oh, I agree completely. I like women who have the power (and attitude) to take control of everyone and everything around them, regardless of the specific type of power they use to do it. That's why I write this variety of stories.
And this particular "mean girl" school bully definitely fits the bill when it comes to abusive, controlling attitude, even before she gains magic powers that make it easier for her to be even crueler than ever. But there's nothing even remotely akin to super strength in this particular story. That's why I'm a little nervous about spending a lot of time writing this, only to submit it and have it rejected.
On the other hand, it's a story I've wanted to write for a while, so maybe I'll be happy just finishing it, even if nobody wants to read it.

One of my favorite unwritten story ideas is something like the old Marvel "Secret Wars" series from the 80's. A bunch of heroes and villains are taken to a far off world to fight for the reward of great powers. The villains win, but are betrayed from within by a group of female villains who kill all the men. They return to Earth with their powers amplified by a factor of 1000 and turn the world into a hellish playground with their new abilities.
They all have different powers. There's incredible strength, obviously. One villain has flame powers, only now she can incinerate whole buildings with a single blast. Another has a sonic scream that can flatten cities. There's a mentalist who can use telekinesis to crush people into nothing, or use her mind to force them to serve her. Etc., Etc.
Which is a long-winded way of saying: write the story you want to write.

One of them is a parallel earth where Hercules was captured by the amazons and they used him to breed their daughters. And later they created the Roman empire and spread all over the world.
And my second "series" is based on a DC universe Earth where Superman was a baby girl, Wonder Woman was more like a greek and less "castrated" and there was no male hero or villain. but unfortunaly my english isn't that good to write this stories

No, it's not the dumb blonde from "Accident."

That's quite a interesting scenario, not something the DC comics will ever consider to publish (not even in a Elseworld), but very good nonetheless.
By the way, Julie is good to see you back online.
I have my untold stories which doesn't come to life because my english sucks.
Maybe ypou should consider asking for a little editing form another forum member, I had my "Potential" story revised by Argo ( sometimes I had to finish that blasted second chapter )

As long as she's powerful, it's all good.

A story with this plot would be Ultra-Mega-Super cool.
I think a superwoman is attitude+power.Power doesn't really means super str.I mean a reality-bending ability a loooot more powerful than just super str.

In case anyone's wondering why I was worried, that wasn't always true. I just checked my own posting history to find it and make sure I wasn't crazy, but I was told back in 2005 that super-strength was a minimum requirement here
You said that stories must contain some "superwoman/ubergirl content", but you really didn't define what you mean by that.
The general consensus is that part of the "ubergirl/supergirl" concept is the physical superiority. So that there's no confusion, for the StoryBank, that must include superhuman strength and invulnerability.
In cases where there is doubt regarding a story's suitability for inclusion in the StoryBank, the panel's decision is final.

So I didn't just imagine it.
Anyway, now that you've all got me thinking about this particular topic, I went back and looked at what I had started writing two years ago. I remember agonizing at the time of how to start the story, since I knew where I wanted the story to go, but not how to get there. As it turns out, I gave up on writing just about the time that I found a perfect compromise to my problem, so I'm pretty pleased with the start of the story. I added a little bit to it already.
So I guess I'm in to take the "bully" villainess. You've all sucked me back in. I won't have much time for writing for the first couple of weeks, so I may need an extension by the time the deadline rolls around. We'll see.
Thanks for all the encouragement, everyone.

I gotta be honest, with you guys and with myself - I won't be able to get a story done by May. Probably not even by June. Better count me out...
I'm sorry to hear that.
As for my own story, I just got back from a week long vacation, so I didn't get a chance to write any more yet. Given how long I'm planning my story to be, I'm not sure if I'll have time to finish it, either.
However, you guys got me thinking in terms of this stuff, so some things I saw on my vacation inspired the idea for another short story. I'm actually going to write that one first while it's fresh in my head, and hopefully I'll be able to finish it quickly. So even if I don't finish my story for this workshop, at least I'll have something to share with the rest of you soon.

The latest posts have included cancellations from Spulo and YAGS, but hopefully everyone else here is on task. And I'm sure some fan faves like DKC and Argo who never chose one will step in and fill your spots! And what of Greyface, Yosh, CF, BTE, UG, Dusty, Helix and any promising new authors and others we haven't heard from in a while? Dupes are now welcome on the list so pick and start typing. C'mon people, let's try to get a nice boatload of stories in here, what say you?

Also, I've been a bit distracted - first by a week long vacation, then by writing a shorter story based on some things I saw on my vacation that "inspired me". In other words, I saw some hot babes in unique surroundings on my vacation, and my imagination ran with it. Since that's going to be a shorter story, and I want to get it into words while the ideas are fresh in my head, I figured I'd work on that one first. I'm almost done with it and hope to finish the first draft today before re-reading and re-working some bits, so it should be posted here this week.
After that, I'll get back to my "bully" story for this workshop, but I'm planning for it to be a long one, so it's likely to take a wrile to write, which is why I'm reluctant to commit to finishing it in time.

I never canceled, I just never gave a 100% commitment. I just don't know if I'll have time before the deadline. When is the deadline again?
1st of May if I remeber right.
If nobody else is going to do it I'm willing to try with the #3 "This woman". I don't have much time (I'm looking for work) so it'll be a very short submission, more a vignette than a true story.

Deadline is May 1st.....
ElF
In that case, I might cancel. For some reason, I was thinking I had until the end of May. With as slow as I write, as long a story as I'm planning, and everything else going on in my life, there's not much chance of my finishing by May 1.
Maybe I'll see how far along I get by then and submit just the first few chapters. But it's a slowly building story, so I don't expect to get to the really physical action until at least 4 or 5 chapters into it. I guess I'll just keep working on it and see how it goes.

Personally, I like to keep them above the age of 18....let's go with that as it can still fall under "high school senior"
ElF
You couldn't have waited until April to start this? I know, I know - You had to keep the momentum going from the discussion in the thread ( www.superwomenmania.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1993&start=0 ) that started it. My life's just so busy right now that I won't even know if I have enough free time to participate for at least another 3 weeks.
I'll say tentatively that I'll take #7, The Bully, but if someone else really wants that one, I'll step aside. I'll think about what I want to write if I have time, and let you know in 3 weeks if I can stay in or not. Just one thing - the bully topic seems like a very high school-ish theme. Is there a minimum age limit on the fictional characters in our stories?
YAGS
So now that I'm further along in my story, I have another question about pushing the limits of what's on topic here. How sexually explicit is the material here allowed to be? Especially when it involves high school students who may or may not have reached their 18th birthdays yet?
Actually, given how crucial the sex is to the plot of the story, and always has been in my brain as I was planning this thing, I probably should have thought to ask this question sooner.

Speaking for myself, in no official capacity whatsoever, I would say that these days I think it is best to be smart. If there is anything sexually explicit, then I think you should make it clear that she is at least 18.
As far as the general question of what is appropriate in terms of the sex, that's something I've been working back and forth on my story as well. The latest rewrite is less explicit, more because of how it fit the story than anything else.
