SGI Workshop 1.13: UPDATED 12/18/09
Another noob question: Ya'll want feedback/critiques? Do you email them privately to the author or should it be public here at the forum? Or maybe just read and enjoy? I just read The Amulet.
Feedback is always apreciated. You can do either. Making it public in a forum does encourage a bit more discussion about the storeis, IMO; draws out some of the shy admirers.

Brad took my precious Canada =( but A cold war version of a SuperWoman from the USSR sounds kind of fun!

My 15th Century UK story is coming along. Slowly, but it is being written. It should certainly be ready before February (or at least I hope so).
I look forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with. I love history and I love Superwomen. Put them together and there's heaven.

Nobody has taken the United States? That's kind of surprising. If I were to join, I'd probably have to stay at home and take the US. But frankly, I have absolutely no story ideas that would fit this theme. Nor do I really have any free time at the moment, though there's a chance my schedule might clear up a little in a couple of weeks.Recap List:
Brad -- Canada
Lfan -- Finland
Argo -- Ancient Greece
Anon -- 13th Century Japan
G7 -- Albania
Berkhart - Cuba
Taliesan -- Scotland
JKIJ -- 15th Century UK
DKC -- Russia

So count me out, unless I suddenly get an inspiration for a story idea.

OK, count me in for Ukraine. I've been chipping away at an idea for awhile and it seems like a good match for this. It revolves around the Chernobyl accident.

So it occurred to me that a story I started writing forever ago and never got around to finishing kinda sorta loosely meets the theme of this workshop, but only if you interpret "national iconic hero" in an American Idol way. Does that count?

Not that I think I'll have time to finish it, but maybe I'll think about it if y'all agree that it's on topic.

Everyone....due to the ovcerwhelming number of requests (2) that I received regarding the deadline, I've decided to push the deadline back to JAN 31st. This will give everyone another month to send in their stories.
Please plan accordingly....

This is a great news, between the work and other RL impediments I haven't even started to put the story together, I was baout to ask for an extension myself.

However, admin now has Chapter 20 of The Supergirl of Smallville, along with an illustration by the ever-awesome TGK, and ace and I have begun work on Chapter 21.

As for the workshop deadline, it might get extended but Lfan will make the final call. I have not received any submissions so far (though that is not uncommon for this). Please get your entries in to me when you can.
ADMIN
Sorry, people, but there's no way I'll be able to finish my story by the end of the month, and another week or two won't help.

I've just submitted my entry, so that's at least 3. Anybody else?

Hmm, I wasn't that found of LKLJ's Queen Elizibeth, G7's Double Eagle was ok, but my hands down favorite was Anon's Divine Gift. Well, thanks to all who wrote these, bye for now. Oh, and I hope that this was the right place to put this comment, I think I've been lurking to long.

Thanks, I've read the other two submission yet, but I'll do as afast as I can. In the meantime I'm quite depressed by having a workshop with only 3 entries... I hope people won't take this bad like the last time.
