First Flight
A Velorian experiencing the freedom of unassisted spaceflight for the first time. Just a girl and her stars -- oh, and hard vacuum and zero G, and soon, the white-hot glare of aero-braking.
But the moment, this selfie tells it all... she's a child of the stars.

Her name is Caprice Borget, a popular British model from about fifteen years ago who did men's magazine kind of work. She was known for her exotic outfits and poses.
She has an otherworldly look to my eyes...

Caprice doesn't have that light-hearted, naive Supergirl look. Instead, her look seems more appropriate for a Velorian Protector, who has been gifted at conception, guided closely from birth and highly trained to be exactly that and nothing else. Softness stretched over warm steel. Highly motivated.
It's easy to believe, as Fats says, that Caprice the model is very intelligent and focused. She looks it in most poses.
Here's another one that screams Velorian to me, right down to the cut of the outfit.

My thoughts this weekend will be on a friend who was drafted into the Army, and came home from Vietnam in a box. He didn't want to go to war, he was afraid, but when push came to shove, he served his country, just like millions of men before him. And many after. Many more in the future.
This weekend (in the US anyway) is a time to remember those who died for their country.
I don't often care for what our military is asked to do, most of which is a matter of poor civilian leadership, but I'm a veteran myself. I've earned the right to be critical. But never to forget those who paid the price.
And since this is an images thread, here's my contribution today:

I sponsored this piece of work about 20 years ago, but had forgotten about it. Came across it the other day. An interesting mix of formal and informal wear with her true identity apparent.
The original idea was to write a story around this image, but I never did. If this speaks to anyone and they want to take a crack at explaining what's going on here in a story, you are welcome to the pict.

If memory and my archive serve me well, this was part of one of you AU1 stories.

Then maybe it/s older than 20 years. Your memory is clearly better than mine. I can't remember using it, but there was a lot of stuff in the AU1 that I've forgotten.

If I remember right it was one of the stories that were part of your early Superfemme storyline.

That would be a tough stunt to do in live action... the tearing of costume and all the firepower and the motion and violence and noise and fury.
But when CGI becomes indistinguishable from live action down the road... then all our dreams will come true.
