Francine Dee
Well, this past weekend I was spinning some dancehall at an outdoor concert/BBQ/dance party thing in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park - and lo an behold - "Serena" walks in and sets up camp right behind the canopy. Of course I did a triple take when she walked by, but it turned out that some of her friends happened to be friends of some of my friends (what is that... 4 degrees of separation?) Next thing you know we're all hanging out shooting the sh!t and getting drunk.
Now, if this had happened six or seven years ago, I would have been fumbling over myself trying to make suave conversation, get a number, or at least find out where she'd be going later that night. But now that I'm a married father of two, "game" is not in my cards. Instead, I was content to listen to my internal monologue - comparing the "real thing" to the idealized, photoshopped version of her that had been living in my head all this time. And though she was definitely upper-echelon hot -- she wasn't quite 'Serena-level' if you know what I mean (but what human female could be?). Anyway, there's not really a story here beyond that. I wish I could wrap this up by telling you all that I'd convinced her to try on the spare Supergirl costume I'd coincidentally been carrying in my backpack for just such an occasion, and taken a private photo shoot... but unfortunately no. Best I can do is let you know that I got a nice, chesty goodbye hug (which I stretched for about 1.5 seconds longer than I should have ), and then we went our separate ways.
Wondering if anyone else has ever met their "internet crush" in real life, and if so, do you have a better story about it than I do?
(oh... and I'm at work so I can't post the obligatory picture link in this thread. If you don't know who I'm talking about, go to www.francinedee.com , and check the sample pics.
Sigh... my first imaginary superheroine virtual girlfriend... ahh the memories...)

Cool ancedote on Ms. Dee. Sounded like she was pretty cool in real life which is always a plus. While no "real" person could sit on the pedestal you carved for Serena, it sounded like she was not a dissappointing choice for a muse!

Good to see you, Yosh. Any chance that your encounter with the real life insipiration for Serena means that you might be inspired to write some more of Serena's Lucky Day? The chapters you posted long ago were great, and I really wish you would continue the story.

You know... maybe if I were granted free lifetime memberships to the steele sites, the supersexy/ultrasexy heroine sites, random's site, this new heavenly heroines site, etc, etc... then I might be persuaded to compose another chapter or two. (I can't join up because I can't have internet purchases showing up on my bank/credit card statements). But that part of the equation is out of my hands

Haha - I guess I did walk right into that one. Unfortunately, though - as much as I'd like to think that one day I'll get around to working on it again - I know it ain't gonna happen. What can I say? Sorry everyone!
