If it is 10 out of 52 I would/have been ok with that. The problem it is closer to 30 out of 52 sorry to say. When the sites is updated, there is 4+ updates at once with back dating so it "looks" like they been there. I pointed that out to you once before and you said it was how you keept track of updates. I understand how life gets to people. It is why I was a member for 2+ years even with the late of updates.

I'm sorry to hear about the trolling. That does not help anything and just make people feel like doing less and less.

May I make a suggestion -- throw an idea out there to see what others think? Part of your problem may be you don't really make maximum use of the material you have. The photo-stories, which comprise the bulk of the output of SSH, are only put out as pre-packaged comicstrips. It must take forever to produce each page, with layouts, speech balloons, etc.

Other sites, notably the Steeles and HeavenlyHeroines, also put out the raw camera shots, including the 'cutting room floor' photos unused in the photo story. This gives the appearance of better value for money at (what I assume is surely?) little extra effort to the site producer. The stand alone shots are high resolution than the ones scaled for the panels of the packaged photo-story, and we get multiple variations/attempts on the same shot (often the unused photos are better, as stand alones, than the one selected for the packaged story).

You must shoot dozens of photos for each story -- hell, you probably shoot over a dozen for each page -- if you're struggling to find the time to get packaged material out, why not take the camera images from a recent story, ImageMagick a logo into the corner of each one, zip them up, and put them on the site as a stop-gap update while you catch up with the packages stories? I'm sure it might help take much of the disappointment out of a full photo-story update being late.

Hey five_red, thanks for the suggestion.
I actually setup a section on the website for that, but the upload function is all rubbish and never had a chance to get it right.
But... I'm going to give it some thought this week. You're right that there a lots of images. On a photoshoot day I can sometimes shoot about 3000 to 4000 images!!
But of course, not all of them are usable - and it does take time to colour correct all the good ones.

CAN I ALSO MAKE A QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT.

My hosting company has just decided to terminate our contract because of the 'adult content'. So, all the websites are down and I'm looking for a new hosting provider.

Essentially I need:

- VPS
- with something like Plesk or cPanel
- Access to command line

Any recommendations?

I've two days to find a host before they kindly delete everything from the servers! How nice of them.

I wouldn't bother colour correcting them, or cropping them, or whatever. Just remove the totally blurred ones and use the rest -- if you put out just 10 to 20% of those 3000 images as they came out of the camera, I suspect people would be happy enough. Obviously I don't know for certain (and that's why I'm throwing it out as a discussion point) but I suspect when it comes to photos of smoking hot babes dressed as superheroines, quantity overrules quality (providing quality isn't totally awful!) In other words: I'm guessing 300 raw pics are better than 3 cropped/corrected ones.

Why? Well, having seen a handful of examples of 'raw' shoots, I personally think there's often a certain candid (if that's the right word) charm to unpolished studio images, which gives a viewing experience quite separate to the packaged versions. The polished photo-story pics are obviously meant to represent the 'in character' heroine (as if she's real), while the candid pics (particularly the ones were the model breaks character) just show a beautiful woman dressed in a hot costume. I suspect there's a demand for both types, and there may be some advantage to NOT cleaning up too much (at all?) the candid versions, because you might detract from their charm.

Basically I'm just trying throw ideas out there to maximise the gain from the material you already have, without it taking any real extra time. At this point it would be cool if other people chimed in to confirm or deny my theory :)

Any recommendations?

Did a quick search for "adult web hosting", and host90 seemed to be recommended as an adult-friendly option. Not used them myself. Their TOS explicitly says legal adult material is welcome. You didn't say what your bandwidth requirements are.

I have been on record as saying that I would love to see the 'raw' unedited photos in higher resolution many times before. I would also like to see the storyboard images in higher resolution. Those raw sets in between regular story sets would go a long way towards filling in the gaps and being more on time with updates.

Sorry to hear about the web server issues. Looks like you'll be offline for a while.

Hey all,

Thanks for the suggestions.

Sarge is right - he and others have said to publish the raw photosets for a while, but I never really thought people would be in to that?

But... yeah, you're right that the Steeles have been doing it (albeit with effects added in, and also it follows a storyline too), and both websites are doing pretty well still.

You'll notice that all the websites went down earlier this week. This was because my previous hosting company didn't like the content, and so gave me 48 hours to get off.

Therefore I've just moved, and there is a hell of a lot of work to do with uploading the files, the db, etc.

But, I can say that I've nearly got SuperSexyHeroines.com back up. The only thing now is for CCBill to go in and check their password files to ensure everyone can login okay.

The other websites I'm working on later today when I finish work. But you can read a little more about the migration on my blog (which is also up), and you can see a little preview of a movie that I'm working on!

The new comic certainly sounds interesting, and I'm looking forward to it. However, did anybody else find it odd that the third installment of "Lightning Girl" is being called the end of the story? It sure looked like a cliffhanger to me. I mean, the last panel shows the girl getting up and the guy saying "Is she coming back for more?" Seems like a pretty odd place to end it.

I decided to subscribe again recently, had the same thoughts about the Arrogance comic.
I didn't actually expect the update to happen on time, but I think if one only subscribes once in a while, there can't really be a reason to complain. Sure, it can be frustrating to wait in vain for the updates - and I think it would be worth considering to just stop announcing them. I like the blog posts where you get preview pictures of what Jon has in store next, that's really cool. I think these posts would cause much less trouble if they didn't contain statements about the targeted release date.

However, no matter when the next update comes: I love the newer content so far. I hadn't subscribed in quite a while, and back then I found the stories and concepts somehow repeating. But now, everything seems much fresher, new ideas have made their way into the comics, and Jon accepts suggestions and even whole scripts contributed by externals. Also, it's great that he keeps on hiring those great models with their gorgeous faces - one of the reasons that keep us all coming back over and over again. I, for example, found Emma Glover as Dark Star in Time Travel one of the greatest appearances in the history of his page. Okay, I know this is quite a strong statement and many of the other comics were at least just as great (to name a few, Mind Over Matter, One At A Time (my god, Jon, the only thing that one lacked was a slightly slower death for the superheroes ^^), Genna X,...), but Time Travel's first chapter really knocked me over.

Keep it up Jon! But maybe stop announcing updates - you and I, and the other guys, we all know that your schedules don't work ;)

Just a heads-up than Jon has updated his site with new material. Taking the suggestion of several people here, this three-part update is a raw photostory without the comic book-style word balloons. Hundreds of pics, in the high quality we've come to expect, and the girl and costume, as always, look fantastic. The captionless approach takes some getting used to. The simple story isn't hard to follow, but the lack of structure that the dialogue would provide is just a little off-putting at first. And a lot of the pictures are so insignificantly different as to be redundant, but too much of a good thing is never a problem. On the blog side, there's yet another long apology/explanation/promise that points to some future plans.

I don't know if it's because of the approach or because of the story itself, but I didn't really like it. I never had an account at mandisteele.com or one of the other sites of that kind, so this was my first "encounter" with this raw style - or how the steeles display it. The good thing is that there are many nice high-res pics with more detail and that there are several shots for every setting. That way you get the feeling that you can choose your own favorites, but on the other hand it feels a bit untidy and flooded.

Maybe it's because, imho, nothing really happened in this comic. The first chapter deals mainly with introducing the characters. The heroine has a crush on Jon, the two guys meet outside and the bigger one gets jealous, attacks Jon and starts beating him up. The next chapter shows the heroine changing into her costume, confronting the big guy and lifting him up. In the third chapter, she mainly holds him bent over and then throws him away. Ok, something did happen, but it felt like 2-3 strength feats in a thousand photos. I don't know how comic books like "Time Travel" would have worked with this style, because I imagine it to be quite hard to illustrate the whole "I come from a future where you defeated me, but in this time you don't even know me yet" setting with photos alone. But on the other hand, far more stuff happened in that comic.
So, I'm not completely sure if it's because of the style itself or the very compact plot that was stretched over three chapters that make this comic one of the not-so-good ones for my taste.

Anyways, I really liked shots like the close-up of the heroines stomach when the fist of the big guy hit her there. Those "superiority-shots" really work better with the new style, because there are no bounding boxes or text bubbles that block out half of the image. That said, I think Jon rightly put this one into the photo shoots section. It feels like a photo shoot, but with a hint of story. So maybe one shouldn't expect a good plot when viewing this one, but unfortunately I did ;)

The current poll is for your favourite SSH.com model and since it's only had one comment so far I thought it was worth mentioning here too. Be interested to see who everyone else likes.

superheroinenetwork.com/2012/05/poll-you...yheroines-com-model/

So in random order, the three I voted for;

1) Gemma Hiles. Just impossibly beautiful and looks terrific in any costume, she's perfect Supergirl material. I'd post more but seeing as she's leading the poll at the moment I'm sure other people can and will be along to praise her.

2) Danica. For much the same reasons as Gemma, that she looks absurdly good in the costumes, but more than that - 'A Super Wish' proved she can act, and act really well. That's maybe not something you can say about all the models who also appeared in SH videos, but she wasn't just merely 'ok' she was brilliant. Really sold the wonder at her transformation and the thrill of what she had become while looking both stunningly beautiful and thoroughly formidable. Seeing her come back to do a photo set would be great, but seeing her in another video would be an instant purchase.

3) Monica Harris. There's a name that's not mentioned much, probably because she only did a couple of shoots a very long time ago, but she's always been one of my faves. She's another insanely beautiful woman who can act too; when she's 'angry' she really looks like someone you would not want to cross, ever. I loved that. It'd be great to see her back, maybe to do a video; I somehow get the feeling she'd love powers of her own, for real, so in a video she might get into the whole thing the way Danica did.

It also doesn't hurt that I've met her and she's lovely.

There's so many other good ones, though - so who's your fave?

Danica is far and away the #1. Easily the hottest girl I've ever seen on one of these "we pay girls to wear a superhero outfit" sites.

Emma Glover is probably my #2. Cute-style & very pretty face combined with a seriously bangin' body.

#3 would be the Asian girl that was featured a while back in one of those "supergirl vs supergirl" stories, but her name & stats aren't listed on the info page. Would love to see her again but I imagine she was a 1-and-done.

I don't exactly recall for which girls I've voted, but I think my top three were:

-Catherine, great face and smile, and hot of course...
-Emma Glover, pretty much for the same attributes - she's my top favourite
-Julie Woodward, also just hot, but the main reason is her dead cool facial expression in those "first person view" comics where the shots are taken from the perspective of some burglar who is beaten up by the heroine

Additionally, I would have voted for "Karolina", Helen Andrew, Layla Pearl, Sarah Sharpe, Tiffany White, Fiona Graham, and of course Danica+Gemma ;)

Same thing that always happens. Jon promises to update on schedule from now on only to vanish for a random number of weeks/months. After which he posts a bunch of blogposts saying he is sorry but both the lack of updates and absense of any communication were not his fault. And then the cycle begins anew.

I'm aware my reply is rather cynical but honestly I have seen him do this far too often now to take the guy seriously anymore.
It's a shame he cannot keep the website on track (let alone any of the others) because when he DOES actually manage to release something it is generally high quality material.

Also I just noticed he apparently figured it was a good idea to add yet another website to his portfolio...
