I've just bought it, and I loved it. I would recommend it to everyone. I won't put spoilers, but I think most people's favorite powers will be on display. Buy it you won't be sorry.

Absolutely get this, it's definitely worth it! Especially the last scene where Lacey...well get it and find out!

First, thank you for considering our requests and suggestions.

I bought, watched and loved this episode of "STORMY TEMPEST, Women of Tomorrow" because it is well filmed and the special effects are successful.

But mostly I loved Aliya Hayes as a Superwoman: she's really beautiful and sexy especially when she uses her super breath!

I only regret that the car lifting scene was too short.
Why didn't you made a slow motion as when she runs to avoid the shots ? In addition, I think the position she adopt to lift the car is not very natural. You could zoom in on every part of her body, from head to toe, while she slowly lifts the enormous weight over her head.

I also agree that she should show more of her superhuman strength.

Except these details, I think you did a great job and I look forward to see more. It's with sexy, strong and triumphant Superwomen that you'll gain many fans here !

Wow! Looks fantastic and fun I’ll have to get a copy for inspiration. Of course I’m most interested in the filming and FX. How many people other than actors do you have working on these productions? The SFX look nice. Are they based on plugins or made from scratch? The eye glow, light vision, energy weapons, and movement blurs in particular look really nice. I really need to look into a few plugins for some of this stuff to make my own workflow faster. Well done.

Hi Random, I've seen some of your stuff, though now I'm trying NOT to watch it so we aren't "covering the same ground".

How many people other than actors do you have working on these productions?

Two guys film it. One of those guys does all of the post-work (me). The other guy runs AC Comics and makes comic books (Bill Black). Neither of us sleep.

We get occassional practical effects help from Chris Casteel. He works out at Disney creating all of the cool statues and sculptures at the resorts and theme parks. Occassionally he is Nyoka's gorilla. He created the muckmonster that Stormy Tempest will soon encounter and he created the "steel" weapon used in this film. And he made a giant foam Honda for Lacey to pick up.

Are they based on plugins or made from scratch?

A combination of many things. We use AfterEffects and Premiere. Some of it is stock footage. Some of it is 3d models (usually Poser). Some is greenscreen. Some had to be rotoscoped the hard way. Some of the assets used were generated in Photoshop. The only non-native AE plugin we use is Optical Flares. Most shots in this film have multiple layers of effects work combining multiple techniques. Bill Black was a film student in the 1970's, though that training was all pre-digital. Everything else is self-taught and elbow grease. Our budget is probably exactly the same as yours. We pay our actress, we buy a costume, we bribe our friends and the rest is just labor and willpower.

An all-Lacey video or any future ubergirl releases like this will depend upon the success of Women of Tomorrow relative to the success of Stormy: Torment in Time. Torment was peril-heavy, sold quickly and was very successful. I am extremely hopeful that THIS episode will be as well, but this episode was SIGNIFICANTLY harder to produce for obvious reasons. It MUST be successful and sell QUICKLY in order for us to justify trying this again.

As expected, the peril crowd is pretty much ignoring this release so far, so it's entirely up to you guys to make this a success. If you are on the fence, please act quickly. If you purchase this a month from now, we will still appreciate your business but it will be too late. The time to vote with your wallets for the type of content we will produce in the future is right now. I wish that wasn't the case, but that is just the "business reality" that we must face. As with comic books, there can be no FUTURE issues if the CURRENT issue is not a success.

AC Comics still exists today 100% because of its loyal fanbase. We will not only "consider" your requests, we will squeeze in every one at every possible opportunity. As long as you support the product and tell us what you want, we'll do our best to make it happen (if it's PG-13).

If there is one scene that we would do differently it would be the car lift. As you might be able to tell from the film, we went from clear blue skies to a severe thunderstorm in a matter of hours. We were unfortunately racing the approaching storm trying to get all of this done in time. The LAST shot that we filmed was the car lift and it was actually beginning to sprinkle DURING this shot (which is bad for the camera). We wanted to do more but all we were able to get was the two lifting shots you see in the film. Then we sprinted for cover. Any future ubergirl carlifting will DEFINITELY get better coverage and attention, but I'm pretty happy with how this turned out for our first attempt.

In other news, Jennifer Trieste/MetalGypsy as Yankee Girl is looking more and more likely for this summer. Plans for more Stormy in late April are now falling into place with AngelAvenger Ashley Wilson joining the cast as Astra. We are holding off on the script as we watch what happens with Women of Tomorrow.

Jennifer Trieste may also appear as Stormy's archenemy/villainess Leatheretta if we can work out the scheduling... and we are considering giving Leatheretta her own WarMech device.

My question: Why do the bad guys look like giant Jawas?

The bad guys are Gorla Monks from the 26th century. They consider themselves holy men in service to an alien queen (that we have yet to see on the show). They have mindcontrol powers and they have taken over the government by subterfuge and exploiting corruption in Stormy's future (also resulting in Stormy being branded an outlaw). The Gorla Monks could control the entire galaxy if thier mindcontrol power worked completely on humans in the 26th century. But humans are genetically immune to their power due to a trait passed on through generations starting with Eddie Karbunkle. 21st century Eddie is the key to controlling the future and Stormy has travelled back in time to protect him and to create a "timestorm" that will prevent the Gorla from continuously coming after Eddie. The Gorla Monks want to capture Eddie, take him into the future, study him, and find a way to overcome the genetic immunity so that they can conquer the galaxy completely. There are also aspects of this ongoing story that have yet to be revealed or explained.

Lacey is caught in the crossfire and has no knowledge of any of this.

While all of this has been previously established in the series, NONE of it is terribly important. All you really need to know is: they're the bad guys, and the girls need to stop them. Simple!

The Monks are irredeemable, evil, soulless, faceless, Nazi-esque, stormtrooper, bad guys bent on intergalactic domination of the future and the past... so don't feel too bad for them when the girls take them down hard and without mercy.

Some of them do kind of look like big Jawas though.

Really good fx, the acting was good, pacing was pretty decent, and the last 10mins or so were brilliant. Overall really ejoyable. The film had a light-hearted and fun atmosphere to it (imo) which was excellent.

“Women of Tomorrow” was great. It’s nice to finally purchase a film that isn’t entirely peril and bondage focused. Aliya Hayes plays a beautiful and believable superheroine, with lots of strength scenes. Hopefully CultRetro will be producing more films in the superheroine genre (since there aren’t any on TV right now).

Wow! Foam Hondas! I’ve looked into foam pillars (very expensive) before but that’s above and beyond.

AE and Premier are the way to go – agreed. I’ve wanted to learn poser since I could probably get better results faster especially with characters – but I’m trying to focus on Blender for a long term payoff.

My budget must be huge relative to yours: We have SAG actors (not really), cargo trucks (my car trunk), cranes (my arms), craft services (I bring snacks), lights (the sun), permits for every location (permits for no location – run and gun), producers, directors, effects specialists…

I do wish I had some more formal training for better composition and lighting concepts from time to time – but normally time is an issue filming.

I encourage everyone to support AC’s project! It's nice to have another high quality producer doing non peril – especially with a great looking and fun original character!

I've done a little acting on projects with this approach (nothing "super", I'm afraid) and I have a lot of respect for people who can focus on their work in that environment. It just completely freaked me out.
