I am imagining a superwoman casually pitch a baseball at relativistic speeds. Wow. The kind of destruction with such a simple innocent act. Would love to see someone take this up in their story ideas.

I once had a story in my head about an alien supergirl who chooses baseball as a means of humiliating humanity, leading her team to a series of shutout victories with her hypersonic pitching. There was some twist about her scheme being thwarted by the designated hitter rule but for the life of me I can't figure out how that was supposed to work...

I did write this little heroine vignette for a workshop 8 (!) years ago.  Home run shootout.

You know this one is going to disintegrate the bat...

I was not a big Twilight fan but I watched it with the family and I did enjoy the baseball scene 

 

This is our superwoman pitcher pitching at a speed merely less than 0.0001% of what she's capable of.

If there were prehistoric superwomen able to launch asteroids, this article suggests some of the results possible with different size objects.

Small objects would burn or explode in the atmosphere like fireworks - this would likely be most amusing result without interfering much with the planet. Medium size objects would vaporize and hit the ground as a fireball of hot gas but without making a crater.

Talk about throwing something into space. The weapon Lucille threw into the atmosphere with her new-found superstrength was travelling too fast to burn up. It kinda kept going..and going, and going....
