How could Superman (or a superwoman, natch) do the *most* good with his/her powers?

Moderately amusing. The real problem is that even an amazingly powerful and totally incorruptable being can't solve our problems, because we are our problems. Contrary to what the article says, probably the best use of Superman's powers would be, well, pretty much what he does - act as a symbol. Yeah, the fighting crime part is pretty meaningless, and stopping criminal supergeniuses and alien invasions is not a full time occupation in the real world, but being a living example that it possible to have power and not be corrupted by it in a world where the opposite example is so prolific is a contribution it is hard to overstate.

There are real world solutions to most problems in the world, including political corruption. What we lack is real world solutions to the source of these problems - our own worse nature so often winning out over our better nature.
