Now in luminous Goose-o-Vision!!
So far I feel like it's going pretty well. At least for values of 'pretty well' meaning I can see lots of stuff I want to do and have no idea how to do

Anyhow, I thought I'd share a couple new renders as I pick away at it.
Inspired by a scene in 'Makes No Difference Who You Are...' ~
And my first fast and dirty go at Wendy

Hope you like

"Mesh lighting is awesome!"
"Cool, I'd love to try it. How do you do it?"
"Create a plane, then turn the emission way up!"
"Erm... make a plane?"
((Consult the internet))
"Ok, I've got a plane, now I should turn up the emiss... hey, there's no emission option."
"You've gotta add it as a shader."
"Erm... add shaders?"
((Consult the internet))
"Seriously? That tab over there??!? Ok..."
Yeah. I got there, but mostly after I found a guy whose whole business seems to be teaching people how to use DAZ who was willing to write a free guide that treated me like the utter novice I am

So a couple new tools in my belt, but the big one is mesh lights. YAAAYY!
Lets try this again ~

There's also the small issue of outgrowing clothes that burst apart seems to be not-a-standard feature (really, why not?!?) but I found that with all the internal sliders accessible you can at lest make the clipping interesting

Earlier pose for Ella mid-change, now on background ~
I am getting the most curious library of personally-created poses

I also put together a little sumthin'-sumthin' for my workshop entry to go with the post-voting re-writes

I have pretty much all the assets I need now for some Best. Day. Ever. illustrations.
Fiona occasionally reminds me to get a school showers set

And like winter, Sylvia is coming...

And a little regular mesh lighting as I try to dial in a look for my online 'main' of many years

Yes, yes, I realize I'm a somewhat singular creature around here in this regard, but they're still simply the hottest of accessories to me

Ok, mad 3D scheme no. 471actually worked, and is so awesome it's getting written in

I sense a bit of CODE Avatar in these renders. I could very well be wrong.

Oh no. I think you've actually shown me an insight I hadn't consciously had. Its still me, 14~ years later, and now that you've reminded me that I FINALLY have the capacity illustrate that tale exactly as I imagined it, I think I just lost a few hundred hours of my life (to a worthy cause). So THANK YOU, very much

Damn. I'm kind of giddy at the prospect.
Ok, that those are two button clicks apart once you get set up is magic

Funny you should mention that...
That's only 90% converged so there's a little speckling I can fix in a longer run. I also want to personalize the space a little bit (hand weights laying on the floor, heh) and spend a bit more time tuning their individual faces and builds, but for a test of the set and some posing I'm pretty satisfied with "movie night" the evening before the story begins.

Well that is quite enticing, I hope to see what comes of this. Those Seraphim may yet fly again.

Warning: Spoiler!A test of making hair actually silver. I'm sure there's more details I can work in, just liked the model and dress for more fantasy powers.

Funny what you can do when your strength vastly outstrips your own bodyweight.
Sadly my machine crashed on this render, but I was able to partially savage it.
Need. New. Rig. Grrrr.
This is an attempt at a later scene in the story, incorporating some techniques from the photo manipulation thread

NSFW. Not even remotely.
Didn't really blend in the gold core well. I'll do better next time

In the third one I'm a bit confused about her feet as well. Her right toes are curled while her left aren't. It feels a bit strange but mostly because I remember you mentioning that you weren't into flight being connected to some kind of flexing here. But the picture is great, would love to see a non-crashed version.
Oh and that heat vision image is pure gold of course. One of the few things I tried with Daz3d so far was trying to get glowing eyes by using a light source right in front of them - didn't really work out.

njae wrote: The pics of Sylvia are great. But in the first one, it looks like her shoes don't really fit. The shoes seem to be bent in a different angle than the feet and it seems like her big toe is sticking out. Kinda clashes with the way her hand is perfectly on the ground.
They're actually open toed, but yeah, I can see how that's jarring in this case

I was an idiot and didn't save that before rendering so any recreation with be hit and miss. But probably better

(must. keep. positive. attitude. after. crash...)

I'm mulling that over too. I -think- I can make it work with a pair of long thin cylinders with emissive shaders. The two tricks though are there's a setting that will cause an object to emit light but not be directly visible to the camera (so I can go back and paint in the eye beams with Gaussian fuzzing effects) and the cylinders will be so small they'll probably need to put out on the order of SIX MILLION lumens to actually cause highlights on the surrounding surfaces... But day-am I want to do a render that's lit by nothing but the eye beams. Dark alley deathrays!

My pleasure. Hopefully this is somewhat like you were thinking in terms of the Orb's effects...
This is looks truly excellent, and while the Orb will certainly enhance certain physical features, she will look pretty much different. Perhaps I can do into detail about it, or you know add a bit more to A Silver Shock...

Please do! Its off to a fun start and the more it paints a picture, the more I can cleave to your vision. Along with picking your brain directly of course. But I'm glad your enjoying my early "fan art"

I ended up doing a little bit of a "speed painting" exercise rapidly incorporating requests/guidance from a partner and rendering a whole progression of images with a new frame every couple of minutes. Sort of RP'ing in 3D? Along the way I learned a couple of neat new techniques

Because this is how the world ends... (NSFW)
Seriously want to add some purple deathrays to those stern eyes.
I've got company for the next week or so so I'll have to leave you with that, and the Muse has been tapping her foot and making pointed glances at my keyboard, so hopefully back to writing next. But it's been fun sharing my progress!
