Themes for the Halloween workshop
As some of you know, on the SWM Discord server we have been talking a bit about a possible Halloween workshop (We know, there ain't much time for it at this point).
If we have to be honest (and be "we", I mean the mod team): We want ideas for a theme.
We have discussed a few, some a bit more detailed than others.
So, if any of you have any ideas then feel free to post them here!

- A superpowered character comes to earth and can't understand the Halloween tradition, think it's real and goes overboard with interesting results.
- Becoming the costume

However, if we're suggesting themes let me shoot some
- a super twist on a classic horror tale
- superheroine faces horror themed villain
- a supergirl organizes/throws a halloween party
- supervillain goes on horrible, gory slasher rampage
- existential/psychological horror involving an ubergirl (probably the most challenging, but also the most interesting one)

A sequel to a specific story?Would be good if someone could do an updated take on the Hero For Halloween. Maybe set it 10 years in the future, Penny has always thought about that night where she became a superhero. It hasn’t happened since, but on Halloween she once again becomes the Hero and this time she gets to keep her powers

That’s a valid point.Isn't Halloween a theme in itself? In the past we had workshops where that was enough of a theme. Doing both a Halloween workshop and adding a theme to it feels a bit too restricting.
This is an attempt to give the Halloween theme a extra twist (and see how many people are interested in it.
Admittedly, the deadline will probably be fairly short

We have looked upon all of them and decided to go with the “Becoming the costume” trope as the underlying theme for this Halloween workshop.
We are still planning out the details, but expect an announcement soon!

Who among us hasn't looked at a brief video clip or even a picture of a young beauty in a tight costume and began to wonder, "What if she really..." I've written a lot of stories starting with nothing but a picture and a fantasy of what could be.Thanks for all the suggestions!

It's a natural and a perennial theme of our genre. And so perfect for a workshop.
Nice choice...

Since the entire point here is prompt people to write new stories... I'd say no.Cool. So can I just re-enter my story from workshop 2.06 back in November 2006?

Actually, I've had two stories for past workshops here that would fit the theme, despite one of them not actually featuring the costume in the story. And I have another story idea that I want to do eventually that fits the theme, too.
I just don't have any time for this stuff right now, so don't expect me to write much of anything any time soon.
