Has anyone started yet? Is there some sort of length restriction?

I have! I think the first time out under a new forum that we have no length limit. That's my vote at least.

After a somewhat stressful and non-productive winter, I'm back at work on "The Supergirl of Smallville," and I hope to get something written for this workshop.

In the interest of getting lots and lots of submissions for this workshop, I would like to announce that I've started writing! I'll try to give mild reports on word count and general impressions of how far I am in the story, and hopefully you guys can set some deadlines for yourselves and try to update here too!

I've thought about it, and I might be in, after all. I have two ideas I might be able to use, though neither one will be particularly easy to write.

One is a character idea whose introduction/origin story I've already started writing in the past, but the problem is that I have no idea what story to put her in.

The other is even more complicated than that.

I'm still fighting my usual writer block, I've worked out the main scenese, but the connections between them are tenuous at best.

I'm in a similar spot to Ace. I've got the story structure (including at least one big-a** fight scene) and the 'Universe' details are all plotted out (which took a lot longer than usual).

As for actually writing it all out, I've got most of the first act (of four), although some of the scenes aren't connected yet. And that's just the first draft, I usually do two or three before I submit it... Better still, looks like this is going to be a long one. The stories I've submitted so far are about 5000 words, this one's already pushing four thousand...

I'd better get back to it!

So based on the discussion in the ConceptFan subforum , I've started writing a sequel/spinoff/homage to one of ConceptFan's stories, hopefully to be submitted for the workshop if I get that far in time. So should I let you all know in advance which of CF's stories I'm continuing, so those who haven't read it can go look it up while waiting? Or would you prefer if I wait and surprise you?

Would rather know in advance so I can reread it. CF's stuff is golden. Man do I miss his stories.

Yeah, I was leaning towards telling you all in advance. It's a long story, and some people may not have read it before. I'm writing a followup/sequel/spinoff (NOT a continuation!) to ConceptFan's "A Little Bit of Fun".

So far, I've written a short prologue introducing my story, and I have ideas for a couple of chapters, though I don't know how far I'll get before the end of May, since I'm such a slow writer.

Well, I sat down to write, and realized that I didn't want to write what I had in mind at all. But in thinking about it, I scribbled down about 30 or 40 sentences/fragments, so it's becoming coherent!

I've got about 2500 wordds written so far. I'm not quite sure how long it will take me to write the rest, but I think it'll be done by the deadline.

I’ve written about 2200 words so far, the problem is that when I originally started the story I wrote a lot of it on paper before running out of steam, and now I’ve finished typing up what I wrote. I do know how it is going to end, but I’ve got a bit to do before that and I’m struggling to make any progress.

Working at super-slow pace, but something is coming together, my submission will probably be awfully short.

Despite having my intro written, I'm pretty much out. I just have too much going on in life right now to write the actual story chapters. So don't expect an entry from me.

I've written about a third of mine -- the middle third. I'll try to finish at least the first two parts by the deadline.

I'm at about 3300 words, including an Exciting Incident. The big revelation is coming. Not sure how far along I am, could be a third of the way and could be half.

I think it's going to be tight, but I should have something.
