Summer 2012 Short Story Workshop Is ON!
Theme: Any take on "A Superwoman sits in a Bar". I changed it from "A Superwoman walks into a bar" for the reason that who says she's super when she walks in....
Word Length: 1000 words
Deadline: August 30th. This is about a month and a half away, but given the length limitations, this shouldn't be an issue. It will be strictly enforced.
Prize: None, except the title of winner! That is, unless someone else wants to donate a prize!
Going forward, we're gonna try to do the regular Workshops in Fall and Spring and Short Story WS in Summer and Winter. OK, get your word processors humming, people.
I'll also make an official blog post about this soon....

JKIJ wrote: I'm looking forward to it. Now I just need to work out exactly which idea involving a bar to go with and how to fit it into 1000 words. Here's hoping for a fair few entries.
That sounds familiar. I've also got a few ideas that fit the theme but I don't know if it'll work with the word limit.
As for the prize: Wasn't the main prize always the right to choose the next topic?

It runs to 1500 but if we're sticking to the limit I think it'll edit down w/o too much damage.

Then again I should stop theorizing and actually start writing...

Is the original workshop schedule still in place?

You can use the idea as a jumping off point for a story that goes wherever you want.

Did you already submit it? I've been keeping your latest entry back because it seemed to me like you workshop entry, but I want to make sure it is.
