being part of a group who lobbied for a higher word count, you can count me in. Finished the story yesterday - Now I just have to get the word count from 3700 to 2000.

Shoot! It looks like DKC is going to spoil my chance for a victory by default. I had the story plotted out before the contest started. I am sure that I will have the same issue that DKC does after I put it on paper. To some extent, this can be an editing contest while testing your word efficiency.

If ive learned anything, its that if you can get a word count 22,000 + over and above all your competitors. You have a pretty good chance of beating them. 
But 2000 words is a completely different beast....or mouse, depending on your perspective.
Might be interesting to post these stories as titles only....no authors known until results are in. Just an idea

I'm out. I can appreciate the reasoning behind having a word limit, but personally, it's not for me. And I need to focus on finishing other stories.
