Sorry about that!

Except this is a workshop, Brantley. Think of it as an exercise to see if a good story can be created around these points without seemingly to be created around those points. That's how I would judge them, anyway.
I think workshops are a good way to generate some new stories and to have a little competitive fun at the same time. When I was new to writing, these kind of workshops would have been very useful for me. They build skills that can be used on more significant works.

Maybe you could give that power to the superwoman's adversary. That's what my co-author and I are doing.

Ace and I have about 3/4 of the story drafted. There's no way we can finish the story and revise and polish it for submission within a week.
This happens to be the busiest time of the year for me, as I wrap up the school year, and the upcoming week will be particularly hectic (exams, grading, award ceremonies, athletic banquet).
An extra week (or two!) would make a world of difference.
What say other writers?

But as I said before in another thread, everyone's a winner of every workshop and the prize is a list of top-notch stories.

I've said this before, but a large part of my writing is simply my interpretation of the best parts of my favorite stories, from a select few of my favorite authors.

That sounds a bit much.
Infinity Crisis Part 6 did not win the Spring 2012 workshop and you didn't participate in Fall 2012 either. Still, 4 years is still an impressive time-frame which could be quite intimidating for potential participants. I also found three workshops where the winning story is no longer available...

d_k_c wrote: I'll be participating. And 100%, this is all for fun! But competition must certainly play a part. If anything, only to make you a better writer. I have lots to learn. But what I have learned so far, is in large part attributed to you Dru.

I'm not saying I wouldn't like to win, so I guess I'd be lying if I said competition isn't an element. But I can't dwell upon the poll...because I wouldn't be able to motivate myself if I did. I dont know how many of these I've entered, but I know exactly how many I've won.
The important thing for everyone to remember, IMHO, is that if you dont get many votes it isnt because your story sucks. It's because the other story was better, which doesn't mean your story was bad. Especially when there are so many talented people working this genre. Competition is tough...which is why we are all winners.
