Who would to like to see be on WCG? ( Fantasy Picks.)

For instance, I never realized that it was risky for a model to put on a costume in terms of her future earning ability. Is that just an issue for aspiring models or does it apply to actresses as well? Is Melissa B going to have her career damaged by doing Supergirl?
Anyway, something to think about that hadn't really occurred to me before.

I personally think the stigma of playing a superhero (e.g. George Reeves, Christopher Reeve) is something of the past, and I don't think that type-casting is as prevalent these days when it comes to playing superheroes. I think the superhero genre is now respected a little more as a viable cinematic theme more than in the past where it was kinda seen as jejune among the movie industry. A simple glance at the mainstream movies will show that some of today's biggest and hottest box-office stars (Chris Pratt, JLaw, Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, etc) have dressed in costume and still get great roles.
As for TV and genre films, it might be a little harder to find examples but that is more due to the sample size I think. Dean Cain never did much after LandC, but I think that was a conscious choice, as he went into the family business of producing and directing after that (his dad was a pretty successful director). Tom Weiling never did much either, but then again, he never donned a costume!
One interesting outlier on the superHEROINE side that I know of is one of the lead actresses/models for TheSuperheroines.com, Kristy Dowe, who actively posts on Facebook about her affiliation with The Superheroines.com which is , for all intents and purposes, a costume/combat fetish site. However, it hasn't stopped her career, as she constantly posts about landing TV gigs all the time in Scandel, Franklin &Bash, Harry's Law, the Mentalist, etc.
As for Mel B in Supergirl, I think this is gonna skyrocket her career, rather than hinder it......

I think most of the problems in the past, e.g. George Reeves, Christopher Reeve wasn't the _costume_ it was the character. That is after people seeing them as an iconic "Superman" they couldn't see them as something else, and couldn't buy them in roles that didn't fit that mold. Oh, look there's Superman playing as a bank robber.
I think we're a bit better than that now, more free to let actors take multiple roles. There's still the relatively modern example of David Tennant quitting Dr. Who at the suggestion of Patrick Stewart, and it's essentially for this reason: quit before all people can see him as is The Doctor. I think Rowan Atkinson took roles to limit him being perceived as Mr. Bean or Black Adder.
I do think one of the reasons Tennant is in Jessica Jones is he thinks it'll be fairly popular, and his character will most assuredly NOT be Doctor-ish, or at least a Villain (He should be genius at it). It's an excellent way to get fans -- and I'm sure there is going to be a significant overlap between Dr. Who fans and people who see Jones -- to see him as someone else.
This is called typecasting, which pretty much sums up as casting an actor only for certain roles based on his/hers past roles. It's a fairly common occurrence and one I doubt it would disappear any time soon. On one hand it a rather easy way for an actor to get more jobs, character actors are often in high demand, because they're often extremely good at their assigned roles and because their presence makes easier for the viewer to identify who's who among the cast (just think of the old man played by Gabby Hayes or the sergeant by Victor MacLaglen in many western movies). Overall it's not something that can ruin a career, but it's defenitely something that many people in the business wouldn't like to contend with.

With so many genre producers focusing solely on the fetish aspect; our fascination with super-women is seen by most of the outside world as being, well, a little creepy.
Mellisa Benoist is playing a famous DC character on a CBS hour-long; that's one thing. What a lot of the "basement producers" are doing in our genre is something completely different and it can and will damage any actress' career who associates with them.

Jess i most definitely agree with you on everything you wrote, the 20 women that i put up on this thread are mostly based in the United States ( Mostly California and other parts of the states.) and most of them have acting experience also, but i think out of the 20 women i put up so far i can see Veronica Orosco Pierce, Jennifer Kairis, Vanessa Bontea, Patricia Mizen, Roxy Roxanne Rebel, Jennifer Eiffert and Meaghan Bloom Fluitt either liking to join WCG. judging from there acting credits and there love for strong badass female characters, those 7 out of the 20 women shouldn't be too hard to get. also i agree with you on what you wrote about the costumes what people don't get is that actresses like melissa benoist and etc. are playing established comic book female characters that have a respectful reputation among people and fans alike and there nothing extremely sexualizing about cbs supergirl's costume compared to your superheroine costumes we see on the internet, but everything you wrote about the costumes i agree, i still hope you keep the Attires for WGC the same but maybe change it up a little from time to time or maybe create a unique costume thats different than the others. but anyways keep it up.
