Is anyone from SWM going to San Diego Comic-Con (July 9-12) to meet Melissa and rest of cast?

I notice they've held at least one "dry run" with Melissa in LA by bussing in a school full of kids from the local area to practice being a Comic-Con audience. Advanced Media Training or whatever. She's new enough at being a headliner that she apparently needs some experience before the Comic-Con and other media interviews. Just because she can act doesn't mean she can kill it during an interview. Practice.

Warner and/or CBS are really investing in her and the show. Or maybe they always do this. New to me anyway.

Does bussing in kids mean they think the series will only be kid stuff?

Maybe a small percentage adults would like our stuff. But out of millions of viewers, that would still be a lot of people. How we could reach them -- well, that's another question.

Kids are easy to get on a field trip, you don't have to pay them- and there a tough audiences to impress. Good practice.

Exactly... middle-school kids can take a fake apart in seconds. If you don't own it, they can be merciless.

The whole vibe surrounding the series with all these articles is very interesting, considering it's a tv series. I can't remember anything like the interest generated at the debut of say, Smallville.

Your right and wrong i think,

A bit of this is you know observation:Most years people like us don't care for new shows annoucnements and the like-so we ignore them- and some shows do generate a fair amount of press-I remember when i was a kid NYPD blue was a big news for a long time, and shows like lost did to there is some interest.

but yeah this is unusual-and i will chock it up to a simple fact-Supergirl is easily the most anticipated show of the fall. By like anyone. No other show on network television has come close-not even the Muppets. Smallville was never that big not nearly.

However....Agents of Sheild from two of years ago was probabbly the show that was closet-and as i have said-never that big a fan. And while its going for a third season, there was a fair amount of talk of it being canceled after its first which lead to desperate changes--which to a degree changed it to what audiences expected.

Becuse yeah this doesn't necessairly mean a hit. However what it does mean is it has an honest shot, and if it delivers what the traielrs and first show more or less have-well i think its got really good odds.

I watched the pilot. For all intents and purposes, Melissa is pretty much Kara, hands down. Her performance was excellent as well as the rest of the cast, especially James Olsen. I can't wait to watch the whole season.
