Supergirl seems to be absent from the Sky One schedules for this week, despite CBS screening a new episode. Rumour has it that Sky One has decided to suspend 'part two' of season one until sometime in March 2016.

Is that also true for iTunes or Hulu or CBS.com, etc. in the UK?

Hmmm ... it looks like us folk in the uk will have to wait a few more months then. Meanwhile, over at supergirl.tv there are some interesting developments in an interview with Melissa regarding Cat's son Blake's appearance soon.

It's not on itunes in the UK yet, Amazon UK have the season 1 blu/dvd listed as coming out on 3rd October, I'd imagine it'll be more widely available on streaming services here then.

It never fails to amaze me how archaic the media distribution business remains. With all the technology available, they still have one foot in the 1980's and little more than a big toe in the 21st century.

So many artificial constraints to the distribution of content. While this show can be watched by anyone, sourced from a dozen different sources, paid and over-the-air free (ad supported), in the US, once you cross an ocean it all goes to hell. Very 20th century. And completely unnecessary given the technology.

Between governments who restrict content to businesses who create artificial scarcity to line their pockets, it's an unholy mix. Not only for this show, but for all shows. Movies do a little better with simultaneous distribution.

Up until fairly late in the 20th century, there were technical reasons that contributed to uneven distribution. Media was hard and any quantity of it had to travel in boats. Internet didn't exist. I flew across an ocean and into London once in the early 70's. to get some Pink Floyd albums (back in the vinyl days) that were not available where I was living at the time.

Yet look how easily a global forum like SWM can exist. Our open and free communication, with zero concern or constraint for country of residence (well, except maybe North Korea), only highlights the horrific state of media distribution.

Internet 1, Media 0

Like to think that there is some North Korean spy agency looking at the site, frantically telling his superiors that the West Seem to be devoloping somekind of Super Girl program....

Perhaps the Dear Leader himself is a fan. Surely you'd have to be VERY well placed to have unfettered Western internet access.

There's only 10,000 IP addresses in North Korea, meaning only 10,000 devices that can directly communicate with the internet. If SWM is getting 15 hits per day, then perhaps we should change the site's slogan...

SuperWomenMania.com -- 0.15% of North Koreans can't be wrong!!

There are approximately 24,900,000 people in North Korea as of 2013. So, there are 24,890,000 potential fans we need to get on board to SWM. 15 divided by 24,900,000 is .000000602 or .0000602% of North Korea's population. Free North Korea's citizens right to information and choice for the internet Kim Jong-un.

As has been hinted at since January, the UK broadcasts of episodes 9 to 20 begin on 1st April.

Now that the official UK Sky One schedule has been published, and the air date is confirmed, I've updated the CBS timeline (see menu at head of page) to provide dates for all UK Supergirl episodes (assuming no more breaks.)
